Do you always drink while you cook?

I can't remember the last time I cooked without at least having a glass of wine. The experience just seems lacking without it.

Anymore it's about the only time I really do.

Life lacking without alcohol, the literal definition of alcoholism.

Rarely when cooking breakfast, unless its the weekend

Sometimes I don’t with breakfast.

I forgot who it was now, maybe Martini, that had wine in almost every recipe he cooked.
Definitely my style.

I do my best work when buzzed.

I used to, but I have not had a drink since the night before my first brain surgery in August 2003.

If I drank every time I cooked, I’d be sloshed most of the time. I cook daily, usually breakfast and dinner....my middle aged liver says NO. I have no desire to acquire someone else’s liver, so I agree with it.
I think drinking=cooking is for occasional cooks, not those of us who crank it out all the time. Or maybe I’m wrong and you’re actually a board full of functional alcoholics. It is an LSU board, after all.

Well, considering I cook all the meals for the wife and I, the answer is no, not all. Maybe on Sunday mornings I'll make up a batch of Bloody Mary mix and have a few of them, but most days, I don't start drinking until around 5 or later in the afternoon.
If having a big party like I do for Thanksgiving, I usually start early but I'm so busy during the day with cooking and entertaining, I never even get much of a buzz.

Grilling for dinner or on the weekends? Yes.

Not nearly “always”...damn shame.

No. I always drink and occasionally cook.

You don’t sound like you’re from Louisiana.
