I didn't necessarily mean downing a 5th. I meant at least just sipping on a glass of wine

Born & raised, around & related to plenty enough functional alcoholics in denial & people with alcohol related diseases. Perhaps that’s what keeps me on the sober side.

Depends on what I'm cooking. Long, slow cooks generally get accompanied by a single beer/glass of wine. Preparations that are more involved generally don't.

With the exception of pizza. I'm having a glass of red wine while I make pizza, because frick you, I'm an artist

Outside cooking - yes

Inside cooking - sometimes. Depends.

No

Now when I’m at my camp I do. Some of you people that drink daily might want to seek help.

Always? Nah, seems like I cooked a meal in 2010 that I didn't drink for. I only drink when I'm with someone or by myself.

I only drink when I cook on weekends. Never during the week unless it's a special occasion.

Mundane kitchen work - chopping, washing dishes is always better with a little buzz and some nice tunes.

I cooked a lump crab meat cream sauce last weekend when I was absolutely shitfaced, and it was the best one I've ever made.

This is me on Sundays. I've cooked the last 2 months on Sunday for about 3 hours each. Generally wine or some daqs on daqs on daqs.

I think we all have our vices, whether it's smoking, eating junk food for lunch or dinner, or a couple drinks most days.

Having a few beers with family/friends while cooking doesn’t make you an alcoholic. Cooking is social thing in my house as it was in my family’s house growing up. Sharing a few drinks while cooking something time intensive is the norm.

Always when making a full on from scratch meal...I love making it a big process. Back when, I used to REALLY love lighting up a bowl while cooking something elaborate.

Only time I don't drink when cooking is basic quick weeknight meals. A glass of bourbon when making a Friday feast and followed the next day by a Saturday morning bloody mary while making a big breakfast!!
