Not only will it be the first thing that hits your tongue, but it will be much cooler in temp than the burger, which adds to the sensation. If it’s on the burger, it just kind of blends in.
Also, stop putting sugar paste on your burger :hmph:

I love overcooked greasy burgers too. If I’m at a place that doesn’t ask about temp, I want some good char on it. A $24 wagu burger...this was perfect. I have had my share of tartare burgers that were just a sloppy mess, the staff just didn’t want to try, so they just brown the outside. This was not the case whatsoever. They actually cooked it, as rare as they’d send it out. They peppered the outside enough to really make it pop, but the sauce mellowed it back out just right.
The local place Fields does a $29 Fork and Knife burger that’s pretty nutty, they bring it out then at the table pour a dark brown Bordlaise sauce all over it. You can’t pick it up at that point, it’s so bait and switch. The burger looked perfect, to temp, then bam, you’re got a sauced...something...I guess a fork and knife burger.

Someone in our party had it Friday too. They over cooked it but it’s a damn good burger
$24 is still insane

Yes it was much better then my other meal there
I had their take on the bbq shrimp in the ginger chili butter
Apps & drinks were good. Little loud inside but it was fun

That looks like a steak tartare burger. I like my steaks on the rare side, but that hamburger looks raw, like the old cannibal burger at the Camellia Grill.

My wife had the shrimp, they looked really good.
There was the loudest old guard New Orleans dude next to us...I wish I could forget all the shite he said, but he was talking directly into my right ear.
It seems like food doesn’t quite match the space or vibe, but I honestly like the food more than the vibe...although the space is beautiful. I go to NOLA to eat classic French food, and they’re really spot on with that. It’s not nearly as polished or as high end food wise as you’re think you’re about to get...does that make sense?

Might be the camera angle, but the bun to burger ratio looks way off.

I love a dipping sauce for just about anything. Looks great to me.

Did they give you any grief when you sent the fries back?

$29 for a burger? What's next? A $30 taco?

Food took forever, hell no I didn’t send anything back. I barely ate any fries.

Forget what it was chaired but used to have a place in Mississippi that had a cheeseburger dropped in bowl of chili.
