Last batch was $16 for 12oz bottles. So what are we looking at? 0.02 cents a ounce more for 16oz can? Not much of a difference.
It was actually $18 for 12 oz bottles

Other Half etc posts as a comparison. For $23 it is usually be a triple dry hopped, high ABV IPA.
I am not sure $23 is worth yelling about but it's absolutely on the high end especially for the market.
I agree. Other Half prices are usually $18/$20/$22 for single, double, triple. I don’t I’ve seen anything above $22. Those prices include tax as well.

What kind of loser wastes a day to pick up beer? Do you people have jobs?
Grown ups typically don't have jobs on Saturdays

Not going to make the release on Saturday due to other plans. I will be there Monday 19th, as I am not worried about DDH Ghost selling out. Ha - OJD is still stacked high and it’s a great beer. Without proxy’s this event will not sell out.
Im thinking you will be correct. I will be out of town this weekend so I may swing by next Monday and pickup some then. Being a hick living in Lafayette has its perks.
OJD is a great beer but I limited myself to (5) 4 packs so far due to price. I wish they would do a flash sale on the stacked up OJD, but they probably won't . The neckbeards will likely put a big dent in it Saturday.

This will all work itself out.
The econ guy inside me is all for this. If the demand is there and there is a limited supply, sell it at a higher price. As long as you sell it all, it makes sense to charge whatever you can.
However, the flip side is that I think the demand is fading. There are already way more better options then there were a year ago. I am pretty much the prime example. I used to go to Parish for these releases and trade for all sorts of beers across the US... Now I don't. I have started looking towards alternatives at lower prices, jucifer, voodoo, holy roller. These beers are not as good and not as rare, but as a consumer I am willing to give that up. For $23 I prefer 12 of those beers over 4 DDH Ghost... Tin Roof and NOLA do good special releases now. They are cheaper and don't require driving to Broussard, LA.
And shite, for $40, I'll take a nice bottle of wine or a bottle of Angel's Envy. Not Maple Shade. But not everyone will make that decision, so it is what it is.

Thank you for posting the thoughts of the reasonable folks out there. It's not that I don't want to drink $23 a four pack beer. It's that I don't think $23 four pack beer is that much better than $12 four pack beer.
Plus I don't have to listen to the wife complain that I spent >$100 on a case of beer.

Agreed. Quite an on-point description of the way I'm doing it now.

4-packs of DDH Ghost in the Machine in 16oz cans- $23/four-pack ($138/case)
that price is fairly standard for what you're getting.
Haven't paid more than 22 for ANY Great Notion beer.

Divorce can solve that problem.

And that was with a 5 case limit and no proxies. I guess they won’t be dropping their pricing anytime soon
I ordered 1 case to split. That’s all I could justify buying
Posted on 11/14/18 at 1:36 pm to LSUBoo
Doesn’t look sold out to me. Didn’t complete purchase, but it’s in my cart
ETA: went all the way to enter cc. Definitely not sold out.
