Speaking of which, how ridiculous is Steins. You’d think it was April 2020. They’re still doing window service only. If not now, when ?

Could be due to lack of staffing. Many restaurants are having difficulty hiring staff.

It's not like he ever had wait staff.

To be honest I was super surprised with the amount of crazy lib places that have abandoned the masks. Some of them I expected to hold on to the bitter end.

I think Molly's Rise and Shine and T&tW are still closed for dine inside

Me too. Still see a decent amount of people walking around doubled masked downtown though

I haven't been to either in awhile so I'm not 100% sure what they are doing but I believe both still don't have dine in. They might be the wackiest of all libs in NOLA though.

Pizza Delicious is still not open for dine in AT ALL, inside or outside. They are in the process of expanding outdoor and installing plastic guards all over their restaurant. Just in time for no one to give a flying frick about any of this.

Wasn't T&W the place in New Orleans that had a Instagram or FB post about Trump supporters not being welcome? Or was that elsewhere? I know we had a lot of crazy restaurant stories on here.

Cowbell did it without specifically saying Trump. Haven't been in there since.
ETA: Just took a peek at their website and it says the following:
quote:

Our staff is fully vaccinated, and appreciates your commitment to wear a mask while inside our facility.

Be well.

Breathe.

Wear a mask.

Get vaccinated.

Still wear a mask.

What a bunch of fricking nutjobs

Not only that they have said repeatedly if you don't support Black Lives Matter, then frick off, they don't want you.

Yeah the Pizza D one is totally freaking weird. They are doing well I guess, I got a pizza there once during the pandemic and they had the orders lined up and had lines for both pickups and placing orders.

But geez read the fricking room and read a science text book. They installing all of these separators and expanding outdoor dining and STILL not being open for Dine in over 18 months into this thing is totally wackjob. These people are just bizarre to me.

Mind blowing. There's no way the young staff at these places have gone the past year+ not partying with friends maskless. No way. Even the most left leaning people I know weren't willing to forfeit their lifestyles just to virtue signal and do nothing at home for over a year.

These places are all about condemning their own "privilege", right? Well they should acknowledge that they only get to act like insane wackjobs over Covid like this because they have the privilege of having been cult-like favorites in the city prior to Covid. Had they been your average family-run shop that relies on as much business as possible to stay steady, they wouldn't dare pulling alienating stunts like this.

The question is whether their followers will still happily patronize the place when masks, distancing, plastic dividers, etc. are a thing of the far away past, but these places are still doing it.

I mean we are almost there. Almost all restrictions are gone and even in liberal new orleans I have noticed less and less people giving a flying frick.

It truly is weird for them to continue with this nonsense.

fricking crazy, I noticed a couple of breweries I visit dropped their mask mandate unless you are fully vaccinated. I doubt they are asking to show vaccination cards though

That’s a perfectly reasonable policy. I’m starting to see a lot of that here in Austin now too.

Steins has always been decent pay and offered benefits. Part of how they kept employees.

I assumed he hasn't really lost much business doing window/door service so the incentive to open isn't there. There seems to always be a line outside. Regulars also seem to be able to enter at times
