I have two sacks reserved for Saturday morning pickup. We are boiling on Sunday for Mother's Day. Wife is concerned that crawfish won't make it through the day and/or night for the boil on Sunday and prefers for me to find another business to pickup live crawfish on Sunday morning. Valid concern or will they make it?

put a bag of ice in a cooler with a towel on top then lay the sack on top of the towel. keep it in the shade and don't close the cooler all the way. should be good to go!

If you find a sack for Sunday pickup it will likely have been harvested at the same time of the sack you would've gotten Saturday. I'm doing 3 sacks Sunday, picking up Saturday.

Not sure where you're located, but it's supposed to be much cooler saturday and saturday night in Louisiana.

Should not be a problem keeping them alive. You could probaly just keep a wet towel on top of the sacks and spray it occasionally.

I mean how did she even have time to think about this sort of thing while making all the sammiches?

Wife needs to find something else to worry about. In a chest, with a bag of ice, well drained, they are fine for up to a couple of days.

They'll make it. Kept a sack overnight during Mardi Gras this year.

Definitely open the drain plug. I place a brick or 2x4 under non-drain end to create a slight incline allowing water to drain easier.

Selects are $3.49 lb.

Non-selects are $2.50 lb.

Sacks average between 30 - 32 lbs.

It will be nice and cool, but extremely dry Saturday. Put them in the shade , but cover them with a soaked towel or two. Keep the towel wet. You will be fine.

I do the same.
I also have a Coke crate that I found few years ago. I flip it upside down and it keeps the sack off the floor of the ice chest.
