Craft Beer: We know it is dying

So what keeps you going back?
Baton Rouge has a few:
Cypress- high quality beer and a nice variety (not kid friendly)
Rally Cap- pizza plus decent beer and sports (kid friendly)
Grain Creations - decent beer and a ton of activities (kid friendly)
Le Chien- local and a solid food menu (kid friendly)
Gilla- tons of sours but IPA's but tend to sit, but only brewery in AP (not kid friendly)
These are the breweries that are currently thriving in BR and surrounding areas. What more could they do to bring in clients?

Don’t see any of the strip mall breweries around in 2 years. Le Chien will do ok because of the space and it’s Denham with nothing to do.
I really love Cypress, good beer but it’s Groundhog Day there every day. Same heads, same games, same food trucks. Rinse and repeat. Great for their locals but bad for business.

To me Cypress has the best beer out of all of them, although Rally Cap seems to have the biggest backers

I wouldn’t say it’s dying, it was more just a heavily over statured market in need of correction. You’re seeing a lot of breweries fold or merge. That, combined with the clientele really invested in its boom 10,15 years ago now have aged and have kids and the younger generation just doesn’t drink, go out, socialize like we all did. They’d readily opt for a Delta 9 THC drink over a beer.
You really need a niche now. A great product, in a good space, that’s either kid friendly or serving really good food.

As someone who goes there frequently, I can tell you people have no idea how hard it is to actually get new food trucks to actually show up when they're booked. That's the problem. Believe me, they try to get new vendors every week but they don't show up or cancel with the slightest change in the weather.

Craft beer is dying. Just look at Rouses these days. They have done away with a large section and replaced it with seltzers. If I'm wanting some beer other than a Miller, I'm more of a fan of the seasonal, local stuff. The different flavored Paradise Parks, PB Korova, Juvy Juice, etc.

1. A monthly happy hour I attend in Austin is held at a brewery.
2. The best pizza in my town comes from a pizza trailer that is parked at the brewery.
Those are the only 2 reasons I go to a brewery and have a craft beer. Nothing to do with the beer, everything to do with other reasons to go there.

I still enjoy craft beer, but I haven't set foot inside a brewery in years now.
But I'm also old and would rather enjoy a beer on my porch than in a loud brewery.
Which I think it part of the issue, as Millennials are just getting older and their desire to go out is waning.
And Gen Z just doesn't really drink.

Aside from traveling I'm pretty rarely at breweries as well.

This. But don’t sleep on the brew. I like Chafuncta here in Mandeville (north) but none of their beers really get me enough. But good hang out space, events, etc.
Gnarley Barley is great. If I lived closer I’d probably live there part time.

Those selections are still there, but it isn’t overtaking the shelves anymore.

There’s a brewery a couple blocks from Minute Maid Park where if you spend at least $15 before an Astros game, you can park there for free during the game.
Hell of a deal when you consider just across the street there’s a $20 parking lot for games. I can park AND drink beer for cheaper. Guess only problem is that $15 tab is more like $30 by game time.

Gen Z decided alcohol is bad, and that’s particularly bad for small brewers.
