Taking the wife to dinner tonight and can't decide between them.

Which restaurant do you recommend and menu suggestions would be appreciated.

I will report back with a review from the one we choose.

I enjoyed revolution better. Thought the food was good at Lapin, but we experienced the worst service I've ever received at a fine dining establishment there. really left us with a bad impression.

R'evolution offers a more traditional menu of great dishes IMO.

Compere Lapin is good but seems like it's almost flash in the pan hip

Completely different type of places.

R'evolution is white table cloth fine dining in the vein of August. Higher priced, more fine dining service, ambience and food. It really is quite good.

Compere Lapin is certainly a bit more casual (although still high end) and the flavor profiles and cooking are wildly different than R'evolution. Caribbean influences, very nice cocktails. I like it a lot.

Just depends on what you're looking for, can't go wrong either way.

If you're looking to wear a suit and blow it out, go to R'evolution. If you want a wonderful meal and cocktail in a more relaxed environment go to Compere Lapin.

Coin flip really but as mentioned. We are the type that like to sit at the bar & be casual so Compere Lapin; tartare is fabulous. If you want the white cloth treatment then R'evolution & get the scallops!

Think we are going with R'Evolution. Menu seems to have a broader selection.

My wife thinks she is fancy so she will appreciate it ;)

Appreciate the info and will report back.

R'evolution. Lapin was really good but R'evolution is amazing. Going tomorrow night can't wait.

R'Evolution was excellent.

Crab Beignets - 5/5. Great app

Turtle Soup - 4/5. It was very good but I prefer Commanders. The deviled quail eggs through it off a tad IMO

Scallops - 5/5. Phenomenal is the only way I can think to describe it. The fois gras completed the dish

Rotisserie Duck - 4/5. We found that it was a little dry but overall was an excellent tasting dish.

White chocolate bread pudding - 2.5/5. Very average.

Overall dining experience was great. Good cocktails and way above average service.

Appreciate all of the recommendations. And would definitely recommend others to give it a try.

Glad you enjoyed it. Have been several times and the only real negative of any of the meals of diners with us was the duck being a bit dry, but very flavorful. They need to work on that, apparently.

I really enjoy the restaurant, though. Service has been great each time. Food has been overall excellent. I enjoy the atmosphere. Seating is so comfortable. So much more pleasant that the old time wooden chairs so many restaurants have. They're okay for a short meal, but for a long dining experience, my tailbone gets tired.

Unless you get one of the tables that for some strange reason, dont have a table cloth.

True. I'm trying to recall if any of our tables had a cloth. I know the tables along the windows facing the street do not have them. I don't think there are tablecloths in the area overlooking the patio, either. Are there tablecloths in that middle section between those two areas? Or in the booths?

Now that you mention it.... I don't think I saw a white table cloth on a single table. Haha

We sat at the last table along the windows right before the wine cellar. Definitely a wooden table top, no cloth.

They have white table cloths in the the middle room with the mural. It's weird. You feel like a red headed step child if you are seated in the exterior rooms. I make them sit me in the middle.

I prefer the outer seating, particularly the area overlooking the patio.

I know what the figure of speech is. They do as well. On about 10 of the tables. Its bizarre.
