I’m going this weekend. It’s been a while since I’ve been. Any tips?
In the past I remember their sweetbreads and I believe smoked soft shell? were great if I remember correctly.

Nice wine list too.

Ty to sit upstairs. I usually request it when I make reservations.

Sweetbreads, Fried oysters with brie, and Veal & Ricotta meatballs are all solid apps.

Lemon ice box pie is a great dessert as well.

If they are doing the smoked pork chop it is hands down the best dish on the menu. It comes on and off during the year for some reason but it is memorably good. Especially with the blackberry reduction sauce.

Yep, the smoked pork chop with a green peppercorn demi galce is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. One of those meals you’ll never forget.

Some of these are repeated but oysters with brie, sweetbreads, foie gras on scallops, and it’s hard to go wrong with the seafood special. Especially if you’re looking for something light before hitting the town.

I’ve only seen them one time and that was a special, but they had a veal chop smoked with a crystal hot sauce glacé that was unreal.

You could blindly throw a dart and hit a great dessert. I enjoy the coconut cream. Grab a few for the table to share depending on the party.

Completely depends on what you’re looking for but I always request downstairs but that’s my vibe. Louder and livelier. A lot of the diners of all ages will know each other. I’ll wait 90 minutes to wait for a table vs upstairs. Garth will take care of you at the bar.

Cheers, not living there now and I’m jealous.

I never even knew there was an upstairs.

I usually go for whatever fish specials there are. I know everyone loves the smoked soft shell crab but the smoke is too overpowering to me for such a delicate protein.

The main room at Clancy's is what makes it Clancy's

Yes he will (look above the bar on the right for a solid bourbon selection)

Other dishes not mentioned yet that are in our rotation are the crabmeat salad (plenty to split for 2) and the veal annunciation. We usually order too much so the peppermint ice cream with chocolate is a lighter night-cap.

Enjoy your dinner, tewino! We don't go as often as we used to but every trip we make is the best two hours of the month.

I sit upstairs because that's where I sat the first few times and so now I ask for it. It is hit or miss depending on how lively the other tables are. Thinking about making the move downstairs though.

My go to dishes are veal annunciation and veal meatballs.

I have a fond memory of Clancy's because it was the first New Orleans dining experience that I had, and you never forget your first.

Oysters and brie app is money.

Grabbing a drink at the bar at Patois then walking over to Clancy's for dinner makes for a great night

Clancy's is the best restaurant in New Orleans and its not even close. It is everything you want in a great restaurant.
