Half of Uptown NOLA just lost power

I’ve seen less outages after a hurricane. Looking forward to the excuse for this one.
Well this will make it worse for them… idiots.
Find the closest Tesco Superstore. It’s the equivalent to a super Walmart. They should have what you’re looking for. I have lived in the UK for last three years and it’s my go to for cheap things like that.

Won two for Thursday! The trip will be my dad’s 75th birthday present.

Any recommendations for best ways to acquire Wednesday passes? If we’re already going to be there, might as well spend the money for another day.

So mine still just says “Submitted and Received”. It normally says “we’re sorry….” or something like that. Anybody know if that means anything?

Mine says the same; fingers crossed.

I second Skinnytaste. You can filter exactly what you’re looking for from the website. A cookbook purchase isn’t necessary, but I do have one and use it often.

She has some great weekly meal plans that are worth exploring as well. They incorporate a lot of the same ingredients to keep costs down.

WTB - Saints London game vs Vikings

If anyone has any tickets they would like to deal to the Saints game in London, please let me know.
I’m in the UK and Netflix here has the most recent episodes the day after they air in the US.

I don’t know how well different VPNs work for Netflix, but I’m able to stream US content for Hulu and HBOMax with mine.

You may be able to find one thats could give you access to the UK Netflix catalogue, but I would do a little research to find the best (maybe Reddit). I’ve run into a brick wall trying to access some e.g. YouTube TV here.

Let us know if you have success.
“Texas” on the list gave me a chuckle
As a child:
Beach Boys - I Get Around
Could not get enough of it; Beach Boys are still my favorite band.

As a middle schooler:
Metallica - Wherever I May Roam live at the 1993 American Music Awards
Blew my mind. Made my mom take me to get all of their albums the next day. I wore those CDs out.

As a college kid:
Sigur Ros - Taak (the entire album)
I had never heard anything like that before; totally captivated me. I immediately became a huge post-rock fan and listen to it almost daily.

While not a paradigm shift like the others; more recently, the first time listening to Orville Peck - Dead of Night was one of those very refreshing musical moments that I hadn’t experienced in a long time.

Yep, the smoked pork chop with a green peppercorn demi galce is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. One of those meals you’ll never forget.

Some of these are repeated but oysters with brie, sweetbreads, foie gras on scallops, and it’s hard to go wrong with the seafood special. Especially if you’re looking for something light before hitting the town.

I’ve only seen them one time and that was a special, but they had a veal chop smoked with a crystal hot sauce glacé that was unreal.

You could blindly throw a dart and hit a great dessert. I enjoy the coconut cream. Grab a few for the table to share depending on the party.

Completely depends on what you’re looking for but I always request downstairs but that’s my vibe. Louder and livelier. A lot of the diners of all ages will know each other. I’ll wait 90 minutes to wait for a table vs upstairs. Garth will take care of you at the bar.

Cheers, not living there now and I’m jealous.

Tintagel Castle is cool. The hike from Tintagel to Boscastle is beautiful and some of the best food I’ve had in the UK was a little restaurant called The Rocket Store in Boscastle. St Michael’s Mount outside of Penzance is worth the trip down. Really hard to go wrong anywhere on the coast. If you’re a hiker there are almost endless options.
Ha, ten years ago Metallica replaced them at Voodoo fest because he had to go to rehab. Best pivot Voodoo ever had.

Watch your local grocery store's weekly specials and plan meals around those. Also check out other grocery stores specials around you. Usually the specials are from Wednesday to Tuesday but some weekend sales are dropped in. I’ll go out of my way for some of the protein specials.

I started doing this a few years ago and it’s kinda been a bit of a sport for me. There’s so much more that I really love that I normally would have never tried and I’ve leveled up and expanded my cooking game. Have some fun with it.
This started filming today. I’m on location and it’s an impressively large production. Looks like they’re doing this one right with no expense spared.

Snow falling pretty decently in Mountain Brook, AL. Definitely enough to stick through the morning.

Land Before Time was the movie I ever shed tears in and it was definitely at the theater. Think I was six.

Chili
Pork/green chili/hominy stew
Seafood gumbo
The smoked pork loin with a green peppercorn demi glacé at Clancy’s. I look forward to this for months.
