Ok well where do you like to eat in the city? What would you suggest?

I'm not ganging up on you, I'm just curious. I lived on the northside for almost 5 years and I'll be back for super bowl this weekend.

We were impressed by the portions in Chicago. You never left anywhere hungry and they piled food up like they were trying to kill you. Other than the pizza, I never had anything that I considered unique or world class. They do have good food.

Well, I guess it depends on where you went. Where did you go? It is fair to say that not every restaurant in the city strives for unique or world class.

just an fyi to anyone replying to Kosmo, he's straight up copying and pasting runningtiger posts from a couple years ago. That guy was an epic troll, and Kosmo is getting you to bite on old material for a second time.

what if i live in the gold coast and eat out a bunch too??

piccolo sogno has a second restaurant on state and the river that i have found to be better. la scarola is good. i never thought sabatino's was the best. if you venture up to evanston, i think buffalo joes has the best buffalo wings i have tasted (best wings are the bbq wings from dinosaur in syracuse). there are lots of good restaurants. depends if you want fancy/trendy or a place with chicago character.

You would be correct. But I would also say that living in both cities also does not qualify one to state as fact which is a better "world class food city". I'd defer to the people who cover food for a living on that one.

I have lived in both and would take the food scene in Chicago any day over New Orleans... NO does its thing well, and I'm not knocking it, but overall... hands down Chicago..

I ate at Geno’s east while I was up there and it was definitely worth it. One slice is plenty.

Oh that’s hilarious. I didn’t notice that. I read the first one and knew instantly. That peckerhead used to get under my skin so bad

That was a genuinely good troll, KC.

Anytime I'm in Chicago I gotta stop at Portillos for a chocolate cake shake. Yum

I've lived here for 15 years and its one of the best meals I've ever had. Steak tartare, oysters, goat cheese, Brussels sprouts, truffle Mac, filets and the best strip I've ever had, two amazing bottles of wine.
Lawyer buddy decided to expense it, so not a bad night. I would recommend to anyone visiting Chicago that can get in there.

Ethnic cuisine, one would expect, should be phenomenal. It is not.

A "Chicago dog" is no different from a hot dog anywhere else except they take pride in not putting ketchup on it and putting lots of condiments on it

New Orleans has better pizza than Chicago.

If you ever see a ranking that has Chicago ahead of New Orleans, please disregard that list ASAP

This is one of the worst hot takes I've ever read.

ETA: Damnit, should've read the whole thread first
