After 27 challenges, the August brisket challenge could be the last one I coordinate. Starting the second week of August, I will be taking care of my new granddaughter while her parents work. It’s been a minute since I’ve been in charge of a baby and my multitasking skills might not be what they used to be, and I don’t know how reliably I could start and end challenges, or count votes.

I think there are two options. One, someone else could step up and run them (in which case this control freak will have to avert her eyes). Two, if I continue, the challenge submission times would have to start in the evenings, and maybe not on the dot of the appointed hour. Same with the endings and vote counting. I currently like to run things consistently, although the vote counting is kind of open ended.

Anybody have an opinion on this? Have other suggestions? Is it time to end them?

Any job applicants want to know the list of duties and job description? Pay?

I'm sure anyone can open the submission thread for you at a particular time. That one is easy.

The voting thread needs some effort to post the pictures like you do. So either you or someone committed.

The voting thread also needs someone who is willing to interpret who some of the votes are for, as some people like to make it as challenging as possible to understand who or what they’re voting for. I don’t want to short change anyone, so I figure it out. It didn’t happen in this round. Everyone made it easy, and for that, I thank you all.

Option 2 if it doesn't interfere with your life and cause you undue stress.

You’re such a fun guy! You downvote a stranger on an internet message board every time he posts no matter what he posts. You’re cool, dude.

You're great at it, so I vote option 2 as well (it doesn't bother me if submission windows and/or voting windows run late). I Tiger-drop from an actual computer versus a phone, so always happy to help out if you're ever swamped or need someone to help with photo reposting or score counting.

I lean towards option 2 as well Darla
these challenges were meant to be fun and try new things cooking ideas
Hopefully never turn into any type of work and if it did then it’s time for a break but I say

If you still enjoy coordinating them then I say keep them up. Just do it around your schedule. No ones going to complain if you post it a few hours late or taking longer than normal to tally votes.

But if you're over it and want to just focus on the grand daughter, I'm sure someone would take it over or at the very least help you out.

Always enjoy the competitions.

score counting

I could make a spreadsheet for score keeping for each challenge!

It'd be like my contribution to trivia. I love it, but am awful. So I write answers and turn them in.

I can't compete with the amazing cooks in this group but still love to participate.

If the vote tally has to take more than 24 hours, No Big Deal. I hope I can get in on this brisket challenge..
