I have been gifted a ticket to the game and will be coming to town with 2 buckeye baws. Treating them to dinner Saturday night. My regular FQ spots, Mr B's, K-Pauls, Peche are booked for good dinner times 7-8. I secured a table at Palace Cafe for Saturday. Not really interested in steakhouse's. Where else should I be looking Saturday night?

thanks

Honestly, I'd just open your OpenTable app and see what is available.

Domenica has 6:15
Josephine Estelle has 7:15
Compere Lapin has a 6:30 and 8:30
Luke has a few slots

They seem to be going fast. If I were you, I'd book Compere Lapin as it is the best out of those. All 4 of those are better than Palace Cafe, IMO.

You can cancel an OpenTable reservation with the click of a button so you may want to jump on something ASAP.

You don’t ever give recs. You just cry about what other people recommend

If you decide to venture out of the FQ/Warehouse District, you might enjoy Ye Olde College Inn, Brigtsen's or Gabrielle. The chefs at the latter two restaurants worked under Paul Prudhomme. I suggest them since you enjoy K-Paul's.

Along Mandina’s lines I had the garlic spinach over pasta Sunday at Liuzza’s and it’s an old, simple dish I love. Wife had basic old meatballs and spaghetti and loves it too.

I love Manales and Mandinas. I love the neighborhood classic NO places. They are not the same as a FQ place and will never be on the same level, but they are just as unique and a great experience for out of town guests. I like taking people to Liuzzas as well. I think the food is meh, but the atmosphere, walking through the bar to get to the dining, beer in mugs, and peeing in the ice in the bathroom is a great NO experience.
