Looking for a casual and relatively cheap ($80 or under for two) place to eat dinner in Nola tomorrow night before the Pels game. I lived in Nola for a few years so I know a good bit about their food scene but looking for something new. TIA

Could hit the Midcity Juan’s Flying Burrito…or Mikimoto for sushi.

If you are drinking, it is getting near impossible to get out of a restaurant under $80.

I always liked Mais Arepas, on Carondelet. Great food and inexpensive; plus, not that far from the arena.

Doesn't necessarily have to be close to the SKC. We are gonna get to town around 4 so we will have time to drive if need be.

There’s a Juan’s downtown on Baronne.

$80 with or without drinks + tip?

May I recommend a few I would deem casual?

High Hat Cafe (uptown)
Cochon Butcher (CBD)
Stein’s Deli (garden district)

I’ve recently done Pizza Domenica happy hour - 4 glasses of wine, 2 pizza’s, tax and tip was $57.

Also did Sala happy hour - two drinks, two apps, split an entree, tax and tip was $54.

Maybe the new "Miss Shirley's" on Magazine. I always enjoyed her food @ Royal China(RIP) in Metry

Juan's is a terrible recommendation. Essentially fast food and you'll shite your pants at the game.

Cochon Butcher
Blue Oak BBQ
Any of the poboy shops
Mandinas
Luke (burger is fantastic)

There is also Devil Moon BBQ, within walking distance. And the adjacent bar is nice with good beer. Johnny Sanchez is also close. Pluck Wine Bar is great and if you limit yourself to 1-2 glasses of wine you can probably get out for that amount of money with food.

Call it what you want, but I love their steak street taco truck tacos(or whatever they are called). Throw on some of their red and green sauce and I’m pretty damn happy with that for a quick easy work lunch

I've never shite my pants from eating at Juan's, or anywhere else for that matter. You might want to see a doctor.

Juan's is fine for what it is and I never mind going there, but there are certainly better options.

This is my favorite pizza place in the city. We will be there in time for happy hour so I think this will take the cake. One of the best happy hours I've seen.
