I’ve never been to either but see commercials all the time. Where do they rank among fast food places? I’ve always imagined them being above McDonald’s but below Wendy’s.

Below Whataburger and Burger King

Above McDonalds and Wendy’s

(Obviously we’re just talking burgers and not fries)

About the same as McD/Wendys/BK. Used to have one on Sherwood years ago but it closed and now is a Podnuhs BBQ place.

Last one or two I had was at a Loves on I-10 and they were horrible. I remember them being pretty good back in the day but not anymore.

Podnuhs has always been on Sherwood for over 20 years. The Arby’s is where the old Hardees used to be.

Sorry buddy. I worked at that location (Hardees). It was across the street from Ground Pati and Pizza Hut. Rode my bike there in late 70's.

But Podnuhs has been in that location since at least the late 80's. So closer to 35 years.

Before that it was Hardees. There was a new Hardees on sherwood by the Piccadilly but that shut down in 2015.

Yea. I'm old.

Gotcha. I thought you were referring to the one where the current Arby’s is now. I had no idea Hardees was even in BR that long ago.

I know they are supposed to be the same, but I have always found that Carl's Jr. burgers to be better.

Hardees moved in to the BR market a number of years ago but none of them lasted very long. There was one on ONeal and in Denham too. It's not very good.

About 10 or so years ago the Hardee’s Thickburger was one of the better burgers in fast food. I haven’t had one since then though.

And Hardee’s long had the best breakfast in fast food, but again I haven’t had Hardee’s breakfast in ages. Not sure what killed them, but all the Hardee’s locations around here have closed.

Bingo.

For a couple years, I only got the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit from the Hardee's at the Love's truck stop in Iowa (town, not the state). Hit the spot early mornings.

Then one day, randomly decided, "You know, they make probably the best fast food chain sausage biscuit, I bet their burgers have to be pretty decent."

I was wrong. One and done.

That was my go to order at Hardee's outside of breakfast time. I used to stop at the one off of Hwy 45 in Tupelo every time we passed through, I bet I haven't been to a Hardee's in 15 years

I can't imagine eating food from there.
I don't eat fast food at all, but that place looks like a day's worth of calories in one combo meal.

frick that.

They call them Carl's Jr instead of Hardees on the west coast, even though it's the same thing.

I believe it's because they think Hardee's is a stupid name for a restaurant...

If I recall correctly there was a Hardee’s in Plaquemine as well.
