Dry stinky martini

gin
little bit of vermouth
anchovy stuffed olives 3-4

stirred, not shaken, don't want to "bruise the crystal"

IDK what that means, but it sounds good

The gin Rickey is especially good if you use a botanical gin. Also, flavored carbonated waters can enhance it as well.

Salty Dog

1 1/2 oz gin
3 oz Grapefruit juice
4 tsp Coarse sea salt
Garnish: Grapefruit slice, salt rim

I drank a lot of Salty Dogs in the past but was advised to stop drinking them as grapefruit juice can interact with a LOT of heart medications

I second the Vesper Martini.

I usually up the vodka ratio:

3 oz gin
1.5 oz vodka
.5 oz Lillet Blanc
Lemon twist

Cold, dry martini

If you have never had one, you might also try a gin rickey without the carbonated water. It is basically just an old-style daiquiri cocktail, made with gin rather than rum. I don’t even know if it has a name. I call it a concentrated rickey.

Campari sour is real nice this time of year.

Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. gin, such as Plymouth brand
3/4 oz. Campari
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1 egg white
1 dash orange bitters
1 small orange wedge, to garnish
Instructions
In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Campari, lemon juice, simple syrup, bitters, and egg white, and shake until combined. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice and shake vigorously until the egg white is incorporated and frothy, about 30 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with the orange wedge.

Gin is my spirit of choice

Rosemary Gin Giblet (If you have endless amounts of rosemary in the yard like I do, this is a great use)

quote:

Makes one cocktail

Rosemary adds a lovely resiny flavor to this cocktail, with pairs nicely with the tart lime and juniper-rich gin. However it is a flavor that can quickly overwhelm. I found the amount in the syrup that I used to be just right. But if you’re a bit apprehensive, you can dial it back to 1 1/2 tablespoons (about 3g). The rosemary syrup will make enough for about eight or so cocktails. It can be kept in the refrigerator for several weeks. It’s also nice drizzled over fresh orange slices for dessert. This is a great winter cocktail and if you don’t want to use the rosemary, you can make a sugar syrup without it and use that. (Or you can get creative and infuse something else in the syrup.) The recipe can be scaled up to whatever will fit comfortably in a cocktail shaker. Most cocktail shakers can handle two drinks at the same time.

Rosemary Syrup

1/2 cup (125ml) water
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
2 tablespoons (4g) coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves

Rosemary Gimlet

2 ounces gin
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce rosemary syrup

1. Make the rosemary syrup by heating the water, sugar and chopped rosemary leaves in a small saucepan, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely. Once cool, strain the rosemary syrup into a jar, and refrigerate until ready to use.

2. Chill a stemmed cocktail glass in the freezer.

3. Measure the gin, lime juice and rosemary syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker halfway with ice, cover, and shake the gimlet mixture about twenty seconds, until very cold. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary or a slice of fresh lime.

He says to garnish with a sprig of rosemary, but I catch the sprig on fire really well and let it burn out and garnish with that. Such a good flavor.

Besides the gimlet, I absolutely love a Last Word. Warning - it is strong and it will trigger heartburn if you get it from alcohol like me

Equal parts squeezed lime juice, green chartreuse, gin, and cherry liqueur (Luxardo, or any other brand). Just shake and strain.

It is expensive starting out, seeing that green chartreuse is like $60+. But damn it is good.

Sneaky good. You can't taste the alcohol. I may or may not get pretty toasty when I have these
