Does anyone remember that strong coffee they used to serve at the LSU Union back in the 1980s?
One cup of that and you were good to study all night.

No but LSU sounds like a fun experience

Yep, nothing but drinking coffee and studying. That’s all everyone did at LSU.

When we make coffee at the camp, pretty much need to slice it. So yeah, I think I could handle it…

Strong as in super dark or just a lot of grounds? Just curious because that’s how I like it too. But the lighter the roast of the bean the more caffeine. So a blonde roast is going to have more caffeine than a dark roast.

Yes it’s delicious. I’ll even drop a Yellowjacket pill in mine sometimes

Strong coffee brewed the correct way is fantastic. Crap that has set around in the Mr. Coffee at work for hours that some calls 'strong' coffee is shite.
Coffee in most European countries is strong but served in small portions, not in a huge mug like we typically do in the US. When done right, I love strong coffee...and the darker the roast, the less caffeine.

Light roast and dark roast coffee have similar caffeine levels when measured by weight, but light roast has more caffeine when measured by scoop. The bold, bitter taste of a dark roast is a flavor profile, not a sign of extra caffeine

Yes.
That's the way I like it.
With chickory.

It's why I roast my own beans

I thought I could until I had some blue mountain coffee from Jamaica that a co-worker brought back from his honeymoon. I took 3 morning coffee dumps and was sweating at my desk for 2 hours.

I cannot handle weak arse watery coffee with no flavor.

Chicory means less coffee and less caffeine.

Generally, yeah, but I once messed up my measurements on an aeropress and got such a strong coffee that it pretty much ruined my day.
I got light headed and fast heart beat and then as it started to wane (which seemed like hours) I got a nasty headache.

I was curious about this because I'd never heard it. Light and dark beans are actually the same in caffeine content, by weight. But because light roast beans are denser, their grounds can be compacted more so if measuring by the scoop, light roast will get you a higher weight and therefore higher caffeine, than the same scoop size for dark roast.
