Cooked the Ninja's Carrots and Ground Meat yesterday and substituted beef broth cause that is what was in pantry.

Like the Ninja, I don't rush sauteing the veggies. Made half of his recipe and used 1 cup of jasmine rice. Used my old Magnalite 5 qt pot and my hour simmer was to hot - steamed out nearly all liquid but didn't burn. Onions and carrots were carmelized superb and added 1.5 cups water and the rice.

Putting this out there for you folks cause your family will eat it up. This was on the level of JibbaJabba's Hamburger Steak dish for me - exceptional.

Very good

A very good one:
Tasty
Healthy
Not very many ingredients.
Few dishes to dirty.
Quick and easy to cook during the work week.

It is a winner!

I've never heard of this dish but now I want to make it. I like that it's simple, though it seems like this is about a 2 hour cook.

Not every meal has a fancy name lol. If you coonass, you throw it together and call it exactly what it is.

Probably not a dish for a fella with an uptown address or a fella with pastel colored tenny shoes

I never heard of this dish, but I love carrots, so will be trying. I am pretty confident trying most anything he does.

Never did his but I’ll add, before I met my wife, I never heard of ground meat and carrots as a dish. Had it for one night at my in-laws and to this day it’s a staple in our weekly rotation most weeks. Sometimes we sub ground turkey. Very solid dish.

I grew up eating this. My mom made it every couple of weeks.
I learned on my own how to make it to my taste. I make it about every three weeks.

I like it, another thing I did was add some fresh green beans.

That's a big pot of relatively cheap comfort food like red beans and rice, jambalaya, turkey neck stew, etc.

Can feed a family of 6 a good meal for under $15 of ingredients.

Yep my grandma just called it meat cooked with onions but damn if you weren’t gonna want to lick the plate.

Wife’s family cooked carrots and ground meat often and it is still on rotation at our house.

Made this for the game tonight. Phenomenal. Can’t believe I’ve never tasted this dish. Perfect combo of flavors.

La Bon Boucon butcher shop in Vacherie periodically makes a Carrot & Ground meat sausage that is fantastic.
