What’s the word on this place. I know the place is/was for sale recently and the owner lives in CA, the place is disgusting, A/C does not work, staff is awful but I sure like the pizza!

Anyone know if this joint was sold or status of operation?

Not sure, but it’s a great slice of pie/salad combo for lunch. Weird parking lot situation with the Jimmy Johns being right there...

It’s a sad shell of a once tasty lil pizza joint.

Best casual take out pizza in the New Orleans area. We rarely if ever eat it there.

He wanted $145k for that business. Rent in that building is $7200/month triple net, goes up 3% every year. Accounting and record keeping are very poor, who knows what you're getting into. Seems to have a loyal following but that building and parking is shite

That sucks! Guess he had no buyers stupid enough to buy with all the issues. Was a good pie!

One time, I ordered a pizza from there for pick up and it legit tasted like burnt plastic. When I got home, I called them to explain and they asked me to bring it back.

I’ve always agreed with your takes and recs.... but man, this place isn’t good. The MIL lives right down the road too.

Let me rephrase that... it’s gone down hill over the last couple of years. Personally, I think it survives b/c it has no real competition other than dominos and Pizza Hut.

That really sucks. Todd is a good guy. He brought that business up from nothing to the best pizza in town. Then he did it again after Katrina - his was one of the first businesses back open, operating out of a tiny trailer in the parking lot on Airline.

Sad that his family was beset by such a tragedy that forced this. Best of luck to them.

It does. I've gotten it less over the years as the quality/service has dropped. That and the spread toward 8 pizza places relatively close (and definitely closer than Brooklyn).

But it was good pizza most of the time. Best of luck to them.

I like the pizza at the Syc House more, but I dig a couple of slices to go at Brooklyn’s. My wife only likes it when we get a fresh pizza, but I’m good with whatever. Had two slices of pepperoni last week and enjoyed them.

Where is this?

Brooklyn will be missed. Even when they were down the pizza was pretty good.

The Sycamore House on Main.

They make a bacon and blue cheese pizza that’s great.

That seems like a lot of $$ for that POS building, and it doesn't seem to be that big. I wonder how much Jimmy Johns lease is? Or the lease for Zoes on the corner? If Brooklyn is $7300, Zoes has be be north of $20,000.
