Brieux Carre Brewery in Nola

I made a visit to this place today and it did not disappoint. Very much enjoyed their IPA and Porter as well as talking to the owners and other patrons.
They just opened last week so they only had four beers, but in talking to others it seemed like the two that I didn't try were good too.
Small bar area with a little patio out back.

So glad to see the beer scene in Louisiana continue to grow. There's still a ton of room for more breweries/brewpubs but they've come a long way in the last 10 years.

Today there was a pretty good flow of people at noon. I'm sure it got much busier.
Those guys will be happy with the $$$$ they take in this weekend

Yeah, no one goes to Frenchman. It's too crowded.

Where is this place located?

It's on Decatur about two blocks off Esplanade.
I think the location is great for them. They will do well

Two blocks out of the French Quarter, one block off Frenchman.
The exact location neckbeard hipsters would hang out to say they don't go into the Quarter and still be near their Marigny AirBnB with all the culture.

Not that it matters, but of the 20 or so people there yesterday I only saw one neckbeard and that was one of the owners.

I got to know the brewmaster here pretty well and he's got a lot of talent and has a lot of really good ideas. He's a young guy too so I would expect their beer to get even better with time. This is his first job as a brewmaster so if they are already putting out great beers, that's a great sign for what's to come.

I'm interested in stopping by next time I'm in town. Rob always made good homebrew. Excited to see what he can do on a big system.

Excellent thats not too far from my family's home. I'll definitely check it out when I'm in town in a couple weeks.

It wasn't crazy juicy.
It was 8.7% ABV though

I didn't think the beer was particularly noteworthy. The Baltic Porter is not to style; it's a brown ale. That being said, I think they have a ton of potential, especially given their model and location, which pretty much guarantees they will be in the black way before most breweries.
To clarify, I think the beer will be good in time, especially once they get everything tweaked and scaled properly. Not there yet, but I can definitely see it for them. Gonna suck standing in line there for growlers to trade for Trillium.

If I'm not able to make it there when I'm in town, hit me up. I may be willing to send some Trillium down for some NOLA brews.
