Japanese restaurants seem to be doing fine and we treated them like shite in a much more recent past. Also, they weren't subsidized heavily through a variety of welfare programs.

my office is just up the road off coursey; when it opened we went several times to eat and quickly realized we were better off ordering to go LOL. The fried chicken was delicious, maybe the best in the city. That’s all we ever got plus sides which were also very good.

they got crossways with the liquor license so though negligence and outrageous behavior and as the article says, weren’t paying their rent. Why they are surprised at the outcome is indicative of the same bullshite that has destroyed the black entrepreneur…that the rules just don’t apply to them

i moved from Baton Rouge in 2018 and was more than convinced they were laundering money. I never drove by that place when there were more than two vehicles in the lot.

How the hell do you not pay rent for a year and a half and get away with it?

Landlord probably shopped around for new tenants and had no takers. Held out hope it would work out with these guys.

Commercial realty is in a tough spot right now, generally speaking

So they had enough money to renovate the dining room/outdoor space and got on Restaurant impossible in April of 23 and magically started not paying rent a month later.

He also filed a lawsuit against the ABC the exact same month he stopped paying rent.

All after a co-owner was jailed for tax fraud, money laundering, etc. years prior.

All while they were receiving catering revenue for a different named company at the same address as boil and roux via the Council on Aging to feed juvenile prisoners.

quote:

According to the Mayor's office, the juvenile jail and kitchen services have had issues with staffing. They have managed to feed the juveniles through outside, satellite vendors.

Through document's we've obtained, $7,200 was paid to AYCE Catering in November and another $6,600 in December. AYCE Catering shares the same address as the Boil & Roux restaurant on Coursey Blvd.

So they were actually paid more than their rent in separate catering services with the same building address.

They were paid an insane price to feed the juvenile detention center for very cheaply made food, and they still couldn't pay rent?

Restaurant Impossible pays for the renovations.

Also, getting paid $15,000 over two months for the catering gig is peanuts to a restaurant. You need to be pulling that in every weekend.

So someone already bought it? Maybe it’ll be a hub for the drag racing that was taking place last night.

Grand Wall Chinese Supper Buffet Inc. of Gonzales sold the building at 11777 Coursey in a deal that was completed last week. The buyer was MAARS Properties LLC of Baton Rouge, headed up by Rajinder Singh.

The plans are to fully remodel the nearly 5,100 square foot building and turn it into two or three restaurant spaces, said Keith Duncan of Kadre, who represented the buyers. One of the restaurants will be Indian, while the other will be complementary eateries, Duncan said. Plans are to open the restaurant in three to six months.

GreenRock was that going on around 11 or 12 Sunday night? I was lying in bed and heard a lot of noise. It sounded like a drag strip and it went on for a long time. I assumed it was happening at the Coursey Sherwood intersection. Probably a lot of carryover from Royal Hookah. Why do the cops let this go on?

Seemed like it was always empty, so do people really want this? I vote for Pasta Garden or a Rax if we're just throwing old names out
