Yep. Just finished a great lunch of black-eyed peas, smothered cabbage, and corned beef.

I can’t eat green leafy vegetables so I have to substitute green beans for collard greens. But other than that, my wife always makes the traditional new years meal.

For those that don't like Cabbage -but still want to participate in New Years Traditions - use Egg Rolls! We've done this with our kids and it's turned into a family tradition

Smothered cabbage (chopped up and cooked down w onions, until it takes on a brownish tint, and turns a little sweet),
Cowboy caviar (blacke eyed pea relish w corn, black beans, avocado, onion, cilantro, tomato),
and smothered Chuck steak/rice & gravy.

My wife cooked and ate them, but none of the rest of us are fans. It's pretty much the worst traditional holiday meal of the bunch.
