Considering a BGE or similar grill.

I am going through your standard bargain store gas grill every two years. I grill a good bit and am hoping to step up my game.

Don't mind spending the coin but I would like to have it 8-10 years.

Eight years, still going strong. Only thing I've replaced is the gaskets (at least twice). But I'm due for a new cooking grid, as the original is getting kinda shabby.

Had mine about 12 years. I had to replace the firebox because I dropped it when cleaning it once. I have replaced the gasket a couple of times.

It still looks great and my wife just bought a cover for it that makes it look like Darth Sidius.

I've had mine at the house about 10 years. Burned the gasket out many years ago and never replaces. Firebox cracked but Goodwood Hardware replaced it since it has a lifetime warranty. I didn't have the papers but took a couple of pictures and emailed them so they could get reimbursed.

Just bought a second one for the country. Hell half the time I just use old Kingsford charcoal briquettes.

Had mine 3 yrs. Good as new, but I never keep it exposed to the elements. It's always under good patio coverage.

Would be curious to see how the BGE would withstand the weather otherwise.

I think this unit is the type of thing that will last for decades, perhaps a lifetime, with very minimal periodic maintenance, like gasket changes.

Had mine 8 years now. Have replaced a few ceramic items and the seal but nothing crazy. The body is still in great shape.

8 years. Still going strong. Replaced the gasket 2 times. You won't be disappointed if you buy one. I fire mine up atleast once a week.

6 years. Replaced the gasket twice. I also put in a stainless charcoal grate that doesn't plug up near as much as the one that comes with it.

Crap! I just did this yesterday. Where did you get your replacement? Dealer or BGE directly?

TIA

Source? I'm fixing to replace the cooking grid, and I might as well upgrade the charcoal grate while I'm at it.

I've had a Primos for 3-4 years. Looks like new with the exception of some surface rust on a couple of the bolts. Those are replaceable if I felt compelled to, but it lives outside, so I'm not too worried about it.

I've had mine since 2011. I've replaced the gasket once and it is due for another change. I also need to replace the draft door, but even in its poor shape it doesn't compromise the grill.

Its modern day ceramic, I mean there are pots that have been dug up from underground that are still around from literally 2500 years ago. Probably longer. I routinely find Turpentine collecting pots from the early 1900s while I'm hunting in the woods and they look brand new.

You may have to replace the springs and a metal part here and there every 5 years or so, but I've had mine 2 years and its still like new.
