NYNY friends want some authentic tasso for Christmas. Branded from a grocery or butcher's house versions are OK if really good. Pork rather than turkey. I just don't want to drive all day to get it.

You’re gonna get a few suggestions. I’m a best stop fan. I’ve always bought out of their case…. However, you can maybe score some at Rouses. Get their andouille while your at it.

Iverstine’s on Perkins has Tasso - not sure if it’s the ‘best’ but it’s pretty good

OP: Kartschners is in Krotz Springs (45 mins) and has great Tasso and any other smoked meat you need. Pork sausage just ok but everything else is great.

If you extend to 90 minutes, I’d agree drive to Villa Platte and go to Pauls or Teets.

Rouses carries Paul Prudhomme brand that I like to use if you can't find anything else.
