A cane’s 3 piece, sub the coleslaw for an extra piece of toast. Pour the sauce on top and make that into a sandwich....

I am totally convinced you've never even tried Johnny's. I'm not biased in any way either, I just know good pizza when I try it and I've had it everywhere from Chicago to Napoli. If your review is correct you have never tried Johnny's or you have terrible taste.

A sandwich is between two pieces of bread, not rolled in a tortilla

Parkway fried catfish poboy dressed. Side of cocktail sauce.

Last time I went, they asked if I wanted to add bacon. Seemed odd they ask that question but said it was great with bacon. I did it. It was damn good.

The Parkway surf and turf is also pretty darn good.

Come on, man. Let's not get carried away. Johnny's is what it is: a mediocre Louisiana chain. There are thousands of better pizzas in the US than Johnny's.

shite how did you miss it?

johnnys won by 1 vote. F&D board melted down. then milehigh went back & changed his vote to commanders so they would win.

lemme dig up the thread. it was epic.

here's one of the threads on it

Johnnys vs Commanders in FOOD PLAYOFF FINALS

these gems right here:

quote:

WOW. CAD703x's OT thread got anchored. Even Nazi Germany is tarying to get Commander's to pull this thing out.

quote:

CAD is now pimping Johnny's on the Rant...this is a pathetic display...I can't even check the LSU baseball score without this shite...this will forever be known as the day the Food Board overtook td.com

i honestly don't remember doing all that but it sounds like me.

eta and there it is:

quote:

milehigh - cads, I changed my vote. Sorry about that.

changed the destiny of the F&D board forever

This. Kingbob named several. I’ll add LaPizzaria and Roma’s in Lafayette to that list.

Johnny’s is top tier if you’re comparing it to buffet places like CiCi’s, Pizza Hut and Gatti’s. That’s about it.

Po boy express in baton rouge is terrible

They don't even sell poboys. They sell some type of soft bread hoagie for the BR fragile palates, "mommy cut my crust off".

I can't speak for "Best", the idea of best is ridiculous, some of the excellent ones are anything at Parkway, the duck at Crabby Jack's, Muff's at Central Grocery, in BR we have Anthony's Muff, Pocorello's hoagie is a treasure.

I don't mind the bread. My issue with them is the thick, overly salted batter on their fried seafood. Po'boy express sucks for that reason.
