The only issue I have with R&Os is sometimes it sits on the hot line and the water evaporates which leaves a thick very salty gravy. If you catch it at the right time it’s hard to beat. Add their WOP salad to the GOAT status over there too.

R&O's is way superior to Parkway on everything.

I prefer Gendusa over L'heimers. No wonder I enjoy R&Os so much

My go to is:

Parkway for shrimp
R&O for roast beef.

Yep, R&O's is solid, and that goes for most of their menu.

I love their WOP salad. A few years ago I had 2 of my sister-in-laws in town and I took them to R&O's for lunch and they are still talking about that place. They hardly ever get back to N.O., but when they do, it's on their list of things to do while here.

Gendusa posted on their FB page that the Poboy Express stores in the BR area use their bread and will sell it by the loaf to customers.

I do not like R&O because of the seeded bread
I'm with you on this, but you can request bread without the seeds. This way, it is a really good poboy.

The Store on vets has a solid R.B. They use Dong Phuong French for their Po-Boys too.

Met my brother-in-law at a very small place off Central Ave. in Metairie earlier today called Parenton's and I ordered the regular roast beef on the seeded bread dressed.

I must say, that was one of the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever eaten. They come in 3 sizes---Small, Regular and Large and I ordered the Regular and it was all I could do to finish it since it was a foot or better long and loaded with very tender beef and a good, rich brown gravy.

I had a Barq's Root Beer to go with it and could not finish the soda I was so full.

I will definitely go back again. They seem to do a pretty brisk take-out business since there are only around 7 or 8 tables in the small shop----although I had no problem getting a table at 11:30 this morning.

Parenton's

A great spot. The Wednesday special po-boys are great. Meatball or chicken parm on cheesy garlic bread. Parenton's is a regular lunch spot for my office everything is really good.
