I know recently some new places have opened up to try different beers, where are some of the better ones?

Corporate Brew & Draft
The Bulldog
Chimes (I like the atmosphere of the Highland location. But the east location has more beers on tap)
Drafthouse (Isn't bad if you are looking for a calm spot to drink)

Chimes East may have more taps, but half the beers are duplicated.

I prefer the Pelican House.
The Cove is nice.
Lock and Key
all within the same area
For a more casual setting The bulldog.

I like Corporate Brew & Draft or The Bulldog. Seems like Corporate always has the most interesting stuff on tap to me.

I like the chimes east a lot but they got some points deducted when they stopped handing out paper beer menus. Even if it's hand written I'd appreciate it over making me go to beermenus.com

good one.
I like the draft house too. Good place to play pool and watch sports. Would be solid place to watch game on an LSU bye week Saturday

Indeed. I'll second CBD as well.

If you are really into trying new stuff, go to corporate. 5 oz glasses are cheap and awesome.

I've enjoyed the times I went to Draft House.
Bulldog on any day that's not Wednesday.
Never been to CBD but I wanna go.
Pelican house is always out of all the beer on their menu's...

That isn't necessarily true.... They have more taps, but are out of so much shite that it evens out. Too fricking cheap to have a beer menu, so you have to look it up then order from a server that comes back 15min later to tell you we don't have that. It's pretty annoying that they don't have a clue as to what they do and don't have.

CB&D and any of the Chimes. And from what I saw last night, if you go to CB&D, you don't have to tip the bartenders. There were some obnoxious, trashy patrons there, leaving without tipping the guys that were busting their arse to pour the rare.
ETA: I really like the Draft House, but I've had my bill padded the last two visits, didn't catch it the first time, and did the next. No mas.
And as for what's on tap, most of the better places do a pretty decent job keeping their list on beermenus current. App or Google.
