I like supporting the local hardware stores. That one on the corner of state and magazine has plenty of lodge.

Who would pawn a cast iron skillet? You gotta be pretty dang desperate to do that.

Just started to get into cooking and I picked this up off of Amazon. Don't know how you can beat the price or convenience. Plus almost every order over $35 at Amazon ships free.
Lodge Skillet
Also picked up this dutch oven:
Lodge Enameled Dutch Oven
Made some short ribs in it the other day and they were great.

What size you looking for and price range? I might have one laying around that I haven't sold yet that I could ship to you. Unless you're wanting something new...then I guess one of the other suggestions about Lodge would be the way to go.

I know that several have suggested buying enameled cast iron. I have three enameled pieces in my 10-15 piece collection of heavy cookware.
I know I'm an old guy, but I think seasoned cast iron browns better than enameled. I would never cook cornbread in enameled cast iron. I would always select enameled if my recipe has tomato in it because I hate what the acid in tomatoes does to my cast iron seasoning (IMO - it strips the seasoning).
If I needed to choose, I would always go with un-enameled cast iron, until I had a nice set of sizes and then I would buy an enameled Dutch oven with a good fitting lid that was ovenproof (handle on the lid needs to be ovenproof) We have Le Creuset enameled, but I am suspicious that Wally World enameled Lodge pieces are just as good and certainly a lot cheaper.
