You must have missed the thread full of people calling it overrated

"Hating" a place and thinking a place is "overrated" are two different things.

Here's the original quote:

I've never heard anyone hate on the Chimes

Now, I don't know how familiar you are with the modern day vernacular, but labeling a place overrated is a solid example of hating on it. It doesn't mean they hate it. But thanks for monitoring my lexical accuracy.

It's a restaurant with a bar. And it is still > Bulldog. By a lot.

The beers at Chimes are ridiculously overpriced. Of the three Bulldogs I've ever been to (Magazine Street, MidCity, and BR), the Baton Rouge bulldog has EASILY the best selection. So if you want a ten dollar pint at Chimes, be my guest.

here's a rock solid wall between editorial and sales. An independent accounting firm conducts the survey. There are no shenanigans.

I heard the same thing directly from the former editor's mouth, who is basically family. The winners are more a result of what's available to the masses.

Best of 225 Annual Awards

If there was ever an area code that didn't require "Awards" it's 225.

I find there price to be very fair to cheap for the most part. Especially before they started serving the 10oz tasters for stronger beers. Even with that it is cheapest place to get to good beer in town, the pelican house bones you with 6 dollar 12oz.

Ivar's chargers as much for a bud light as Chimes does 20oz saint arnold's endeavor, let that sink in.

Most beers I'll say are priced reasonably, but the rotational ones get out of hand. I paid $10 for some Terrapin recently. Absurd.

Ehh, I dunno about that. They've got good happy hour prices and happy hour goes on forever. Personally, I don't feel they're as expensive as The Cove or Pelican House.

Why don't we have the TD "Best of Baton Rouge" restaurant awards, using the same categories? I'd be glad to set it up...
