Cook Out

Speaking of cookout...we just had our first Cook Out experience during a recent road trip up through NC and VA. For whatever reason we had never tried it before, but kept seeing signs and so our interest was piqued.

The food wasn't great by any means, but where the hell else can you get a double cheeseburger with a side of corn dogs and quesadillas??

It appears that we erred in not getting their milkshakes, so I guess we'll need to make another stop next time we are on the road.

If I order a chocolate shake I don't want vanilla soft serve with a squirt of chocolate syrup mixed in. That's what most fast food places do.

Both Whataburger and DQ make a fine chocolate malt. I'd give the edge to Whataburger though.

CFA had a banana pudding milkshake a few summers ago that was outstanding, but I haven't seen it since. Their peach one is pretty good.

I don't know how widespread Freddy's is, but their milkshakes are really good as well.

That's how I like it. Unfortunately, We don't have any BYB's or Braum's very close to my house.

Haven't had a fast food milkshake in years..
Well I haven't had a milkshake in years period.
I use to mix some good vanilla ice cream with Carnation chocolate malted and milk. That is some addicting stuff. That is why I pass the malted stuff in the grocery.

Double D in Larose. Butterscotch is amazing!

DD's peanut butter is good, too, but probably the most calorically dense food that can be sucked through a straw.

This.

Freddy's is much better than most other places, actually tastes real. Freddy's overall is a fantastic fast food place.

I have never heard of Freddy's before. Got on their website and discovered I have one only 3 miles away. I will have to check it out this weekend.
