I also like Los Reyes. It ain’t el tiempo, but it’s solid.

It's not a restaurant but Azteca's Food Truck is legit. Coming from downtown it's on Florida Blvd before Greenoaks Funeral home.

On the outskirts of BR, Sahuayo in Gonzales is seriously legit

Tio Javi’s is pretty damn good.

We went last night. It was a lot better than Tio Javi's from a few years ago, no doubt. It was not close to Ninfa's in the past. The food was good but I still like Los Reyes better.

P.S. Tio Java seems to have a much more limited menu than most places but that could be a Covid thing, I guess? We have not sat in a restaurant in almost a year.

El Tio on Burbank was my shite back in 2012-2013. It's a little hole in the wall and the first time I went there no one spoke English. Started sending my buddies there though and everyone loved. Their steak burritos were so damn delicious. Seemed like a risky decision the first time I went in there but it was one of the best decisions I ever made while I was in college.

Family and I enjoy Los Reyes. Tio Javis has been good the last couple of times I have gone.

I think El Paso on Sherwood is good also.

I miss Ninfa's in the 90's !

Back when montana owned and ran it. Was like having BR's own lil Mama Ninfas from the barrio on Navigation.

Sans Navigation original, I found BR's franchise better than many greater Houston satellite Ninfas locations, when I lived there briefly.

not saying its the best but Mi Padres is a little underrated. They probably also have one of the more stout margs after Superior

Totally agree. Brisket tacos and tacos locos are extremely good.

Agreed, El Rio Grande is meh, greasy.

Good fried chimichangas, enchiladas, but Uncle's food isn't as good nephew Jim's, and not as good as his brother Carlos, who had a much better restaurant a few blocks over on Airline at Fla circa 1970s in front of Circle Bowl.

And Nawlin's Casa Garcia was originally in BR across from Sound Wherehouse and Putt Putt in mid 1980s, before heading south down I-10.

Don Beto Taco truck if it's ever in BR. I usually catch them in the Prairieville/Gonzales area.
