I've always thought Jambalaya Shop was better than Pot and Paddle. But Ive always gone to the one in Gonzales, not sure about the others.

I've gone to the jambalaya shop downtown but its to hit and miss ...sometimes not good at all...it taste like overly spicy rice with very litle sausage pork or chicken in it..
A friend of mine that lives in gonzales says that the original one there is the best one...

Alexander’s market, they usually make a big pot on Saturday, I would call ahead and reserve some if you need a bunch

would have recommended Tee-Wayne's. But, I don't know if they reopened or if they plan to ever reopen.

Every so often work gets a big mess of it from pot and paddle, and it has always been good. I stopped at the jambalaya shop once and ate a bowl and it wasn't too good. Seemed like it was too soggy.

i never get jambalaya or gumbo from restaurants since it is always inferior to homemade, but Pot and Paddle has good versions of both (for a restaurant).

portions are massive and you will not leave hungry. they also do pork roast, chicken stew, and other specials. everything is priced well
