Ginos is the best red gravy Italian place in the state. It’s not even close.

Ran across Monjunis (711 Jefferson Hwy) by accident when leaving Red Stick Spice Company.
Was very impressed with the red sauce.
It has a pleasant sweet taste and was easy on the stomach.
Menu selections were nice.
Found their red sauce is sold at Rouse’s and it has now become our go-to sauce at home.
Gino’s is excellent also.

Monjunis

Their red sauce is way too sweet for me. I know that they sell a lot of it, but it is not my style.

Diguilo’s is terrible. Go to Gino’s or Nino’s.

She has mentioned before that she likes Monjouni’s sauce but I’ve never actually been there.

Well you already know she likes the sauce at Monjuni's so I would just give them a shot. Its very good. All the names suggested Gino's ,La Contea, Digulios are all very good but Monjuni's is somewhat unique with their sweet sauce.

Gino’s, Digiulio’s and Monjuni’s are all good.
Nino’s on Bluebonnet is also very good. For a special experience, I would choose Nino’s.

Surprised no one has mentioned Palermo's. Smaller, red and white tablecloth place with really good dishes and good drinks that don't skimp on alcohol. Not as popular as Gino's or DiGiulio's but they do a really good job.

People either like Monjuni's sweet red gravy or think it is overly sweet and otherwise bland. I'm one of the latter. I suspect that your wife might like Gino's more than Nino's.The food at both great, white tablecloth experience at Gino's is better. When asking for reservation at Gino's ask not to be seated directly next to a service station and the kitchen door... definitely kills the atmosphere.

Personally, I think a table on the bar side (dimmer, better atmosphere, and not those awful kitchen tile floors) is the best place to sit.

Agree, with a little luck, Rusty Yates will be playing.

I concur, love Palermo. Its slightly different than Gino's or Diguilio's but quality of food and service are great.

I waited too long and when I called to make a reservation at Gino’s they were already double booked for the night. We ended up at La Contea because we had somewhere else to go in that area. Both of us really enjoyed everything we ordered.

Was the singer performing?

I like their food, but we never go because that singer is downright awkward.

It's so weird. We go at lunch time to avoid him

If Monjunis red sauce wasn't so sweet I would say them. They have great meatballs though. I don't remember Ginos spaghetti being all that special but they do have Laurence bread which is a must if you go to Ginos
