I am from Alabama, but I have to agree with Houmas House. I ate there once while in the area on business - was best meal I had that week

Avoid your very first place thought of and take advice from the board…

I hear nothing but great things about this place but I have never been. I need to make an effort to get there.

I have never found Doe's to be special. Good food and expensive but never really felt like killer atmosphere or service.

I completely agree about the Baton Rouge location. However, Doe's in Monroe is very nice.

Good restaurant but it's a little over hyped due to it seemingly be a place many people have never heard of. Also the location is the absolute worst location of any nice restaurant in town.

Thats more of a reflection on these people that have never heard of it and their general dining choices.

We ate there last year for our anniversary. It was solid but an odd experience mostly due to staffing, limited menu etc. Covid crap I guess that may no longer be a problem. We've been a handful of times previously.

haven't been to a lot of the fancier places mentioned but the parrain's/pinetta's/digiulio's triangle is pretty solid
