Have a friend driving through LA next Tuesday. He would like to stop for lunch around Lafayette and get some boiled crawfish. An suggestions for a crawfish lunch in that area?

Went to Hawks last night and they were fantastic as always. They aren't open for lunch, though.

There is a place in Breaux Bridge we are checking out tomorrow that was on some "top 10" list for places to get crawfish. I'll let you know if it's any good.

Somewhere just south of Maurice, boiled at home.

garbage. youd swear they boil them in plain water. sprinkled shells. meat had absolutely no flavor.

i always try new crawfish places around acadiana but all roads eventually lead back to Crawfish Time

I call all of that Abbeville. Speaking of, Richards is about as good of boiled seafood you'll ever have at a restaurant.

That's odd -- I love Hawks, but the one time I went to Crawfish Time I didn't care for it. I like my crawfish super-clean, and they weren't. My biggest gripe with Hawks are the prices -- 5 lbs. for $29.95 is highway robbery.

Because it's the "filet mignon" of crawfish. At least that's what the fans will tell you.

Hook n Boil's crawfish aren't as good as Crawfish Time IMO, but they definitely serve crawfish for lunch

Get there early, but Cajun Claws in Abbeville are among the area's best for size/taste. Dessert's not bad either if you still got room.

They're the best I've ever had. Went to DI's last night and they weren't good at all.

About to leave the hotel -- going to eat lunch at Crawfish Town USA and get some to-go from Crazy Bout Crawfish.

Crazy. DI's and Crawfish Time have been my two Acadiana favorites.

Just finished Crawfish Town USA. They had good flavor, but were barely warm. The ones I had at DI's were so dirty and gritty that I couldn't even eat them.
Going to get my to-go order from Crazy Bout Crawfish now.

My two Acadiana favorites remain Hawks and Cajun Claws.

Richard's was a good choice last time I was in the area, though it was long ago.

Disappointing. I haven't eaten there since moving about 3 years ago. Sucks if they went downhill.

If I remember correctly, I believe the son took it over a year or so ago.
