I had a condo in the quarter for several years and my goal was to find the best bloody mary, crab cakes plus several other traditional New Orleans food/bevereages.

For me the best Bloody Mary was the Rib Room in the Omni Hotel. I tried many and most was on par with my home made ones which I thought were good.

Then I tried the ones at the rib room and they far exceeded mine. The bar tender was kind enough to give me the recipe and now mine are on par with theirs. The big difference is they use infused vodka.

What flavor was the vodka infused with and what other things were unique about the Rib Room bloody?

I second Igor's on St. Charles. You can even do a quick load of laundry while you enjoy it.

The one I had at Jaggerhouse on Conti damn good.

Bacon infused vodka and crisp bacon strip in it, and the Regular was was great too.

I like the one I make w Titos and Zing Zang is the base.

Overall - Commander's Palace
CBD/FQ - Antoines's or Molly's on the Market

My wife and I make them at home like no one else’s business, and have had them all over NOLA. The best store bought we’ve had were at Mr. Ed’s on St. Charles, but the bartender that was there last year may now be gone.

2nd best? Elizabeth’s or Molly’s.

Atchafalaya is said to have invented the Bloody Mary bar, but I haven’t been there for brunch.

Can't say that I've tried many mentioned so far, but the Superdome and Gazebo pepper Bloody Mary right outside the French Market are outstanding.
