We really like Corky’s dry from the Poplar location. I do not care how many downvotes I get. The slabs are excellent.

They aren't terrible like some make them out to be. I like Charlie Vergo's.

Going to Memphis in a few weeks so I’ll be monitoring this thread for answers.

I was told The Rendezvous is the place for bbq at the moment.

Rendezvous is good.

Germantown Commissary is good

Central BBQ is my favorite thought I’ve never had ribs there.

Another good one off the beaten path is Cozy Corner.

BBQ Shop is my go-to for pretty much anything, with the exception of sandwiches (Payne's)

Rendezvous is not BBQ. Charcoal grilled would be correct.

Haven't been in years, but at one time the dry ribs from the Popular location were excellent.

I don't know about best, but if you've never been to Memphis and you want to do the touristy type stuff, you can catch the ducks at the Peabody, ribs at the Rendezvous, and Beale St. all in 6 blocks.

Their ribs are pretty damned good, but I don't think they're the best in Memphis. Of course, on the upper end of ribs, we're just arguing about variations on "awesome".

Buddy who lives in Memphis said Central BBQ all the way. I’m rolling with them when I go.

I was really disappointed in Central’s ribs when I went. Could be that I just caught them on a bad day but my rack was really dry and didn’t have much flavor. I’ve heard great things about Rendezvous.

Best ribs period....three hours to the WNW at Tommy's in Mountain View, AR.
ABSOLUTELY fantastic ribs and Tommy is quite the character.

Rendezvous is the tourist leader, but they are charcoal grilled and have a dry, paparika heavy rub on them. Just go to get it out of the way. Their sausage and cheese plate is the best thing on the menu there.

Best Q depends on what you want. Ribs: Cozy Corner, but Blues City Cafe on Beale can be good. Pulled Pork: Paynes. All around one stop: Prob BBQ Shop. One offs: Cozy Corner has BBQ Cornish Game hen that knocks people out. And if you're going to try a BBQ Bologna sandwich, Cozy is the place. It ain't what you took to school in your lunchbox.
