There’s been a thread or two about this in the past year.

Pinkerton’s
Pit Room
Brood Bros
J Bar M has recently unfricked themselves

Khoi, Willow, Deckle and Hide are probably the best popups

Also if you want breakfast tacos, Pit Room's are an excellent choice

Y'all leave Tejas out and their Q is very good and the Thursday pastrami beef ribs are on point.

Truth / Pinkerton

If you’re near the west side and want to avoid the lines, try Roegels

Blood Bros was terrible when we went. 3 of us were totally disappointed after looking forward to it.

My favorite pork ribs.

Overall, I’m a big fan of Feges, especially because of their brisket. Truth is very good too.

Pit Room ain’t a bad choice at all either; however, you should definitely try their TexMex place, Candente.

One should never forget to order chips and queso at The Pit Room...best queso in town. Their salsa is legit too.

This.

I’m one of those “weird” people (that’s what friend say) who actually doesn’t really care for queso and never bother with it. When eating at Pit Room, though, I’m the one who jumps up to order it with their brisket. It’s heavenly.

+1 on Roegels.

If you're farther west, Brett's in Katy. If on the south side of town, Killen's in Pearland.

Been about 6 years since I’ve been to Roegel’s but I remember enjoying it back in 2018. Tried J-Bar-M today while passing through for something new besides Truth, thought it was ok. Ribs tasted pretty good but were a little tight. Sides reminded me of Terry Black’s, kind of an afterthought.
