Truth is best, I’d say Pinkertons has the shortest line.

I know it's not important to a lot of people when they're thinking about BBQ joints, but Truth puts a lot of effort into their sides and desserts as well. My wife doesn't really care for smoked meats, so Texas BBQ really isn't her thing. She does really like pulled pork and good sides, so she never complains about going to Truth.

Pit room we went to was not much seating to begin with
We went at around 6 and it wasn’t crowded

Man their pinto beans are ridiculously good to me. Brisket is exceptional but I didn't expect their ribs to be blow your mind delicious. They were. Haven't ate at the other places as I'm never really in Houston aside from that one get-away we took.

not really answering your question betwixt the places you mentioned. But a very solid brisket sandwich can be found at Goode Company BBQ. They serve it on jalapeno bread and its dynamite. different vibe then your aforementioned places and not quite at the level. However no lines and it is a dynamite brisket sandwich... for what that's worth.

Three words:
Tater
Tot
Casserole

Truth's brisket is so insanely good that the other meats are definitely overlooked. I only tried the turkey because the dude slicing the meat had a weird end slice that he needed to get rid of. It was the best turkey I've ever had.

My vote is for Pinkertons.

I was very disappointed in The Pit Room. I’ll have to dig out the photo but it wasn’t very flattering. Recently hit Pinkertons on recommendations from this board along with some other research and it was awesome. Pit Room doesn’t belong in the same conversation with them from my experiences.

I haven’t had Truth but apparently they have really long lines after achieving a high ranking in the Texas monthly top 50.

Splitting hairs with these three places…Truth will have the longest line.

Pit Room can be very hit or miss. Pinkertons brisket is my favorite when they’re on.

Cobos is hands down the best BBQ place in Texas not named spring creek.

Have not been to the Pit Room since pre-Covid so my 'review' is dated. All three are top-shelf.

Truth will likely have the longest lines.

Well I'm leaning towards waiting in line at Truth. I'll be visiting my daughter in Katy.

Eta thank you for the feedback everyone

truth is the better brisket, but you'll likely wait in line

i love the tacos at pit room as they have some of the better tortillas you'll find

pinkerton's is really good as well; their brisket and duck & sausage jambalaya are great

i'd rank them truth, pit room, pinkerton's

Well, to be fair, you put a lot more photography effort into one of those photos.

Might wanna check out Brett's. Maybe a little below Truth but it's an awesome BBQ joint.

And I would throw Roegels (Voss Rd) into the mix.

I lowered the phone and took a closer photo of the food at Pinkertons. That’s it. It wasn’t a good day at Pit Room. It was a while back. I’m sure they aren’t always like that or they wouldn’t still be in business but my experience was not good.

They are vastly different photos, Mr Bigfish. Photography license: revoked.
