That little screened in place across from Baton Rouge High School has some good ribs.

Tried the one on Perkins recently...I doubt that I'd ever go back. And the one on Sherwood has regressed too...That's sad, because I used to like Podnuh's.

I went to Perkins recently as well and it was garbage. I used to love Podnuhs in Monroe.

They must be between quality control managers during these extreme economic times.

Mainly looking for best ribs though.

Not really barbecue but for me Zea's has the best ribs in BR and it's not even close.

BBQ in BR all seems average at best to me. Pimanyoli's has my favorite pulled pork sandwich, but the brisket absolutely sucked the time I got it...sides are badass. Voodoo is good about one out of every three times. Suckers was my go-to place for about six months. Podnuh's blows. I'm not a TJ's fan at all...TJ is fricking dickhead, and I've always found the food dry. Bushwood has an awesome selection of sauces, and the sampler of meats I had was slightly above average...need to give them another shot.

A couple of weeks ago, just finding BBQ in Baton Rouge was a challenge. On Memorial Day, we tried Voodoo on Nicholson. They were having an employees party and weren't serving customers. The next day, tried Voodoo at the mall. It was boarded up. So I decided to give Suckers a try, passing up Podnuh's on the way there, which I've found to be mediocre. I found Sucker's, like Voodoo, was closed forever. I ended up with some mediocre fare from Whole Foods and facepalmed when I passed up Voodoo on Jefferson on the way home.

BBQ in BR is terrible.

Whole foods is ok. If you want something like that done right, you have to do it yourself.

There shouldn't be room for shoemakers in BBQ business.

For ribs, go to Zea and get any of their sauces (thai rib BBQ sauce is awesome) or get them dry.

If you want some nice beef ribs go to TJ's but their baby backs are major fail IMO for a place touting ribs.

This. I like the dry rub, but sometimes I get a side of Thai and/or BBQ sauce and dip the dry rub ribs.
