It’s very obvious that several of you have never tried Honeycrisp apples.

A couple of years ago, in October, Whole Foods had a ton of varieties I had never seen before. We picked up a couple of each and gave them a try, and they were all better than the normal apples on the shelf. Sweet Tart was one and it was excellent.

Honey crisp. There is no debate

There is always a debate.
Honeycrisps are good, but I get tired of them. Very acidic.

Best thing about them is their consistency.
Worst is the price.

I go with the Fuji. Always crisp and always cheap.

If they were consistently crispy I'd go with McIntosh for flavor.

Possibly the worst readily available apple. Literally bred for the sole purpose of still looking pretty after weeks/months of transport and storage. They are an abomination.

A good one is excellent.
Problem is that they are often mealy and the skin is very thick. I don’t buy them because you don’t know what you will get.

Envy are really good. I usually buy those when the price of honeycrisp is absurd. I've also been getting Jazz apples that are excellent lately.

Macintoshes are actually pretty great, if not someway hard to find. I always buy them when I do.

The University of Minnesota recently introduced an apple named First Kiss which may rival the Honeycrisp.

Honeycrisp. They're so sweet that I feel guilt after eating one.

This ain’t Rosh Hishana

I was a Granny Smith guy for a long time. I like sour stuff.

But the SO god some Pink Lady Apples

Those are fricking good.

And there is an insane difference between the expensive ones at Whole Foods and any other you buy.

Envy's are now my new favorite. They look a lot like Honeycrisp, but are even crispier and sweeter.
