Any real craft additions this year? Or is it still just Terrapin and over priced trash?

I seem to recall in years past that they had some craft beer in the grand stand at one of the bars.

It’s goofy that they don’t have more draft beer out there.

Yep, it stinks. The beer part of the fest is the most cut throat of everything. They make a fortune off of it and they are greedy bastards with the cut that they give the volunteer groups out there for doing so much work.

If any of the local breweries wanted to be bothered, they could make bank.

Miller Lite is a big sponsor and they have the huge tent out there. They aren’t going to let any local craft options intrude on their turf

Fairgrounds gets all the beer profits, not the Fest fwiw

Yeah they have had the VIP tent and stands out there for several years. This year I noticed what I think is a new tent that looks to be kind of like a lounge I guess.

Nothin beats an $8 12oz can of Miller Lite on a hot day. Mmmmmmm. Drink it fast though, before the urine taste kicks in!

I wonder how much they'd sell considering anything craft would be $15/can.

Terrapin is the only real option out there.

Beer prices at Jazzfest are so high I don't even consider drinking alcohol while I'm there.

Well I know who shouldn't be complaining about not getting a share

I guess I should say the non-profits who run several of the beer booths.
They get something goofy like .30 a can sold. It has just become more and more difficult over the last four or five years.
First problem was when they raised the price of a damn 12oz can from $4 to $5. The groups make much more in tips than they do on the beer sales, so that hurt.

Now they send out a crap load of individuals with ice chest to sell so that the people don't have to walk to the tents.

No biggie, I'm not in the group anymore, but it is not a good trend for the schools and clubs, etc who need that money.

Sol treats you well in the hot sun as well

I don’t think the prices are outrageous. They could charge super dome prices if they waited

If you’re cheap just fill water bottles with vodka, then buy a lemonade and mix it

Lot of people in this thread who don't go to Jazz Fest, I guess.

Pilsner Urquell is always a good option in the Grandstands and near the craft tents.

But the real find this year was Holy Roller at one location outside the Grandstand. Was pumped to see that.
