Can we designate batches based the daily hours of sunshine and wind velocity the hops experienced during the growing season since apparently that is responsible for the variance in batches?

If Stone has the same issues I can see how Parish would as well.

You greedy goat-herder.

Obama and Bernie Sanders should confiscate 90 percent your goats and redistribute them to the rest of us who have none, including those of us who drank ours foolishly.

One of our amateur Cicerones here needs to build a spreadsheet with the subtle differences of all 9 batches.

Last winter was dry up here in the PNW, and the hop crop was below average. It was also a dry year in Germany (where they rely more on rain, instead of irrigation for watering the crops).

When the crops are smaller, they rely on stored hops from previous years. I'm not sure if older hops are less flavorful, like older hoppy beers.

The good news is that this should be a much better year for the hop crops.

Brewers that have contracts guaranteeing them their supply of hops will get the first hops. There will be less hops available for brewers who want to do one-offs or brew bigger batches.
