Do you like your banana pudding with more cookies or more pudding?

Share you BP recipe if you have a good one.

I usually make the Paula Deen recipe whenever I get the craving for it, but I use Vanilla Wafers instead of the Chessman cookies.

I’ve actually never had them. Every time I went to get all of the stuff to make BP, I couldn’t find them. So I just got the Vanilla Wafers.

You're gonna need 2 bags of the Chessman cookies.

If sold out in the Natalbany area, drive to Covington and pick some up

You'll NEVER buy vanilla wafers again

In 13x9 pyrex dish, put a layer of nilla wafers on the bottom, flat side down, covering the base. Then cover with bananas, then about half your pudding mixture. Repeat again. Cover and let chill for 4-5 hours so everything will meld well. Before serving, crush up wafers to crumble onto the top and grate a little nutmeg as well. Perfect balance of cooking, bananas, and pudding. The wafers in the pudding soften up and are almost more cake texture. The crumble on top gives you that little crunch.

I go very simple with mine, and honestly it is just good. It isn't fancy, but it works because everything is allowed to come together.

1 box instant vanilla pudding (i'm lazy)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (i like eagle brand)
2 cups cold milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
12 ounces cool whip
Usually around 10-12 bananas or so, depending on their size

I like having all my pudding mixture and cool whip mixed together smoothly, but some may like it more loosely incorporated. Personal preference.

It isn't fancy by any means, it just relies on letting everything blend together as it chills in the fridge and it comes out fantastic. Super simple and has always been a crowd pleaser anywhere i've taken it.

A properly balanced amount of pudding and cookies is the way to go. I don't want more of one, per se.

More pudding than cookies. Vanilla Wafers, with pudding like my mom made. Do not eat until the second or third day so the cookies get super soft.

Nilla wafers, chunks of banana in pudding, and baked meringue on top.

It's called banana pudding, not banana cookie casserole

I feel like an ancient homosomethingorother, encountering the black monolith by my local watering hole on the savannah eons ago. I have no idea what this is, but it may change my life.

I add some crushed up heath bar to mine occasionally for something different.

Helen, a restaurant here in Bham, makes a warm banana pudding that is quite good.

I don't make much in the way of desserts, but I do eat them. The Chess cookies are far superior to vanilla wafers. I also like it with Biscoff cookies. So good!

Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding recipe

Simply the best. Though I may consider substituting chessman cookies next time I make it.

I never knew they existed. Being the suggestible person that I am, I have a batch of the PD recipe chilling in the fridge overnight.

I bought three bags. Can't stop eating the cookies I didn't need for the dish.
