Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Wood, Casamento's, Meauxbar, Wing Shack, etc)

Morning ladies and gents. I had a hearing in beautiful Hahnville this morning. I almost had a disaster in my house this morning too. I ran out of toilet paper. Thankfully I was able to complete the job with that last square.
On Friday, I ran to Wood after work. It was pretty chilly so we sat inside. I grabbed some Elijah 12 and ordered some pies. I went with sausage and margarita. We added ricotta to the sausage. The appeared to have a nice tap selection.
I thought the pizza was decent. But I much prefer Dolce Vita and Domenica. We also received a free order of mussels. I think the kitchen accidently made them. They were okay. I was not a fan of the tomato sauce that accompanied it.
I think they are still working out their kinks. I will give them another shot. The televisions were nice and the crowd was lively. It was nice watching the Pels beat on the Clippers.
From there, we walked to the Rusty Nail to pound some cocktails. I grabbed a few Bulliet Smashes.
Before we left, this lovely lady bought the whole bar shots of Jager. I believe she was a rep.
After telling some friends bye, we headed home.
On Saturday, I awoke at the butt crack of dawn to run some errands. After completing them, I went to Ms. Mae's to pound some Beam. It appears that the street work to allow floats to turn is complete.
I then walked next door for an early lunch. The people at Cassemento's opened on time at 11:18. I grabbed a Dixie and a dozen.
I was not crazy about the oysters. They were very bland and did not have a salty taste. The saltines added some saltiness. Peche's oysters are much better.
I also grabbed a half oyster/shrimp loaf.
They sure know how to fry some oysters there. That shite was ridiculous. I'm still kicking myself for ordering half shrimp.
From there, I returned home to relax and grab a Beam. I wanted to head to the Quarter around 3:30 for KDV.
We stopped in at Lafitte's. Those servers were fricking with me and giving me souvenir cups of Beam. After three, I was feeling pretty good. I ran into some star from Fraggle Rock.
After Lafitte's, we walked down St. Philip to Meauxbar. I was anxious to try this place since it reopened. I used to love Meauxbar.
I ordered a Basil Hayden and perused the menu. I decided to order a bunch of small plates. We went with beef tartare, frites roille, mussels, chicken liver pate, escargot and bone marrow, bolognese, sweetbreads, onion tart, gnocchi, oyster pan roast and a couple of desserts.

I apologize for the shitty pictures. I blame user error.
The food was great and the renovations were nice. My favorites were the tartare, chicken liver, escargot and sweetbreads. The oysters were also good; I just wish that they were warmer.
From Meauxbar, I stumbled to a few parties grabbing cocktails and small bites. This muffaletta wrap was interesting and healthy.
We attempted to catch the parade on Royal at St. Philip, but it was a shite show. I'd say it was at least 20 people deep on the corner. We decided to walk up Bourbon to Conti to catch in on Decatur. Of course, I had to stop and relieve myself at the Pub.
I wasn't sure, but I think we made it to the KDV grandstands.
The parade was pretty good. My favorite float was the one with Mohammed taking it in the arse.
This lady made me want to have 33 hands.
After the parade, we went to the Polo Lounge at Windsor Court to hear some music. I grabbed some more Elijah 12.
Since it was getting a little late, I decided to order a crab gratin. It was delicious.
After the show, we ran home.
I awoke early on Sunday feeling a world of pain. I had to summon my inner beast to head to church. After receiving the Sacraments, I felt a lot better and headed to Lafitte's.
After a couple rounds, I ran to Stanley with some friends. I grabbed some fried shrimp and oysters and ordered a burger with fries.
The meal was on point and filled me up. From there, I headed back to Lafitte's. I think some of you may have been on to me.
After another round of drinks, I received a call from the little lady that she was craving a roast beef poor boy and wings. She didn't handle the alcohol as well as I did.
I grabbed my things and ran to Nola Poboys and grabbed a roast beef. I didn't feel like going anywhere else. I then went to Wing Shack and ordered a 20 piece. I went with hot, garlic pepper and honey mustard (b/c everyone in line was ordering it).
The wings were good and reminded me of Chicken and Watermelon's. They also had fruit punches. I didn't grab any.
The roast beef was not so great. It was likely manda roast beef and gravy. Either way, they cured the little lady.
Lent is almost here and the next few weeks will be brutal. I hope to run into some of you during Mardi Gras.
Stay fat, my friends.

Congrats on not being 1000 pounds. I ate a quarter of that this weekend and feel like a shitbag.

I normally don't think you eat too much, but I really hope you didn't eat that plate of fried seafood and the burger and fries all alone. That's two entrees.

Phew, I was getting worried that you hadn't made it through the weekend.

Had some this weekend. Really good. There was actually a guy there that I thought could be you. With 2 ladies, pounding through bottles of wine and taking pics of all the food and drinks.
I see, however, it was not you.

I think that I know how to have a good time of dining and drinking and partying. A lot of options around here.
But sometimes when I read your Rewind, I think I need to step my game up. Keep up the good work.

I was the run trying to run off the bum begging for money. That son of a bitch was pissing me off and cursing at me. I was very close to taking his crutches and throwing them over a fence. Five-o took care of his arse.

God, I love the fried oysters at Stanley. I think I'd consider moving down there just for that alone.
