Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Stein's, Chalmette, FQ, etc)

Welcome back to the grind. The new year started off like last year ended, drunk and full. I am grateful the holidays are behind us.

I had to work Friday. After work, I ran home threw some jeans on and headed to Barrel Proof. I didn't want to get too wild, since I wasn't sure how the weather would cooperate. I grabbed an old fashion and perused the options for dinner from Black Label BBQ. The old fashion was cheap at $6, but I found it a little sweet. After that drink, I went with Elijah Craig.

For dinner, I went with two ribs, 1/4 pulled pork, 1/4 lb brisket, poppers and pickles. The meats were great. The smoking technique was damn strong. I truly enjoyed the flavor and scents. I didn't want to wash my hands because they smelled so damn good. The pickles were awesome, and they only cost a buck. Poppers were poppers, and therefore they were delicious.







I offered my buddy a piece of the brisket. That homo took the fat off and placed it back on the tray. I'm wondering if we should continue to be friends.

My night was unfortunately cut short due to an unexpected trip to the ER. I was pleased to find that they offered Peanut M&M's in their vending machines.


After getting home, I passed the frick out. I need to start my training for the Classic the next morning. I felt fresh.

On Saturday, I ran to Audubon to get a few miles in. Damn am I out of shape! At least I have a few months to get it together.

After the "jog," I showered and went to Stein's for an early lunch. We were dining at Rocky & Carlo's for dinner, so I wanted to make sure there was room.

I ordered the Old Fart, which has liver, tongue, and chopped onions. I requested that it came on seeded rye. The ever pleasant Dan was working the front counter, and I was glad to see that he was not sleeping. He didn't seem to be in the best mood.

The sandwich was outstanding. If eating an Old Fart is wrong, I don't want to be right. My only complaint about the meal was the amount of fat Bama sorority girls dining in there. Even the huge t-shirts couldn't hide their girth.





After the sandwich, I ran to my bro's for a drink. I then made way to the beautiful mecca of St. Bernard Parish. My friend's parents were out of town so we stayed at their house.



Since the weather was rough, we decided just to drink at the fine establishments the Parish had to offer. We started at Desi's, then went to Juan's, Rocky's and The Levee.

I drank doubles of Beam everywhere. All of the bartenders were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable.

At Desi's, we also ordered some fried pickles.





My only complaint about the bars was that we were looked at like outsiders. The amount of eye-fricking that was taking place was unreal. The two girls I was with were getting the business from every direction. It made me feel dirty.

For dinner, we dropped in at Rocky's.



I got a small wop salad and veal parmesan with baked macaroni.
