No it shouldn't, there's enough chickens. There aren't enough people working to cut them up.

I meant other chicken related food products such as thighs, breasts...not the actual chickens themselves

I blame the shortage on that new air fryer I got my wife . chicken wings 3 days a week . Getting tired of wings and I love some chicken wings .

I understand why it’s happening after the past year, or why they claiming there’s a shortage, but this seems to happen every few years.

Y'all keep buying wings. Maybe that will keep the thigh prices down. Even with prices up across the board, you can usually find bone-in thighs for cheap.

I received it also and I'm intrigued.

I think it was Fudpuckers in Florida had an appetizer where it was fried thighs tossed in sauce. Was so good and I ate like 4 of them before a meal.

You haven't lived until you've been to the Sanderson Farms plant in Laurel, MS

There are a couple places up here that have MP (market price) on menu for wings.

Should be logical to assume that there is a chicken shortage in general then

Yes, but the wing is far more in demand than other parts due to specialty wing places like Pluckers and Hooters. An average person eats 10 wings in a sitting at those places. That’s 5 birds. While an average chick fil a customer eats one chicken breast, and there’s two per bird. This makes the wing the limiting factor in chicken, so a shortage will naturally effect the wing far earlier than the breast or thigh or whole bird market

10 whole wings or an assortment of 10 flats and drumettes?

This is accurate. I haven't had the same brand of wing for more than two weeks

I never understood why people like chicken wings. They're mostly bone and gristle with very little meat. You can have my share of chicken wings. Give me the drumstick, thigh, and breast. Turkey legs are my favorite.
