Interesting thread about the place over on the OT. It appears that the owner made a bad mistake

I was holding off putting this here to keep the board clean, but Winston Cup started it first. LOL

That dummy kicked over a Murder Hornets nest and it will be hurting her business if not destroying it outright. I am in Baton Rouge and got texts about this from friends in Mandeville and New Orleans before I read it on here.

People of the Northshore will boycott the frick out of this place if that becomes shared around the community

Not surprised. All the housewives around here will be talking this up for weeks with their powerwalking groups.

Definitely. She may have gotten away with an anarchy spiel like this back in the day when they were crown jewel of Covington's dinner scene.

I would pick Oxlot, Forks N Corks, and Lola etc. over them nowadays anyway if I wanted a similar experience.

Hotel’s looking pretty slick. Be interesting to see how the new bar and restaurant fit into the town.

Indeed. Oxlot is far better than Del Porto, and I also prefer those other places as well. Last time I went to D P was about two years ago and the food was hit or miss. Maybe it was the best on the north shore at some point, but the north shore has grown tremendously since then

This stupid Tuesday just destroyed her business with her ridiculous take

I've noticed quite a few restaurants posting comments on their pages lately. Marjie's Grill posted quite an opinion on the use of teargas at the protest last night.

I genuinely do not care what peoples political opinions are. If the food is good and the business run well then I will support it. The moment though when the owners become openly political or politicize their business is when they now force me to make a choice, because now I know if spending my money at their place is actively supporting their activism. Keep your business neutral and I will be there. Politicize it then I won’t.

It really is dumb for these owners to politicize their businesses this way. The repercussions are deserved

Exactly. I didn’t give a damn which businesses were showing their support for BLM and whatever. The breweries have been kind of vocal as well. I will still patronize them.

This c u n t crossed the line

Well said! As a business owner I lay low. My opinions do not matter. I will never go to DP. I saw where someone's posted a list of black only restaurants, I Just don't understand some of those that we're listed I know for a fact have voiced their views, so just more reason not to go places.

We are going backward as a society. I cook mostly at home so, I'm not overly concerned if an establishment post something negative. But, I will keep a list on my phone on where not to go.

Hotel owner and Chef are both from BSL/Waveland. Other than being very large it should fit in fine. BSL is changing And will continue to do so

Really matters where the price point lands in the new Oxlot. Can’t imagine them being higher than Fields. Those two might go at it.
