Smoking a brisket for Mother's Day this weekend and need a good beans recipe to go with it.

I've made Pioneer Woman's beans several times and they are very good. The recipe makes a lot, but is easy to halve etc... There's really nothing that has to be exact about it.

I don't use a small dice and probably use more than called for. I used apple cider vinegar. I also used some molasses because I like it cooked in baked beans. You can use more jalapeno and chipotle if you like.

2 Big cans of Bush Beans (whichever flavor you like)
1 pack Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sausage (whichever flavor you like)

1 bell pepper
Your favorite creole seasoning to taste
1. Brown sausage, drain grease and reserve sausage.
2. Saute diced onion and bell pepper until soft.
3. Add beans and sausage back to pot and cook until beans are soft.
4. Add creole seasoning to taste.
Easy and delicious!!

The recipe that used to be printed on the package of Camellia navy beans was pretty good. I don't remember it exactly, except that it called for draping the top in bacon strips & baking for quite some time.

We always just did it by taste. Used pork and beans, chopped onion, chopped jalapeños a good squirt of mustard, some ketchup and a dab of brown sugar. Covered the top with raw bacon slices and baked until heated throughout, maybe 45 mins.

4 cans of Bush’s southern pit BBQ
2 onion/1 BP chopped and cooked down in a cast iron pot...tablespoon of minced garlic
1 lb smoked pulled pork
1.5 cups dark brown sugar
1 cup of your favorite sweet BBq sauce
BBq rub to your taste..i use rebel and Obie Cue
Combine above ingredients in a cast iron pot (lid off) and place in smoker for 2.5-3 hours at the tail end of your brisket cook.Stir gently a couple times.
I usually put the beans under the meat so they catch the drippings.

I’ve had similar to those and I liked. I like pinto beans. I have a stoneware bean pot and cook them in the oven. I will make white beans as bbq baked beans as well.

My recipe is similar to this, and I can't recommend enough the smoking it for a few hours under whatever hunk of meat you're smoking. Just no other way to replicate the resulting taste.

Do this, whatever recipe you use.

Onions, mustard and Steens are a must

Nearly identical to how I do mine. I also add one pound bacon and a tablespoon of liquid smoke. After meat has cooked in the instantpot, I leave it all to slow cook all day and skim the grease close to serving time. Sweet Baby Ray's is my choice of BBQ sauce to add.
