I go to Whole Foods daily and have noticed a decline in the quality of service. Awesome they lowered the price of the rotisserie chicken but if they are never out hot and ready to go does it even matter ? The check out lines have become train wrecks. The ghetto Rouse's on Chopitoolus does a better job when it comes to getting people checked out. I inquire about it regularly now when I'm standing in a 10 person deep line with one item in my hand. Same response everytime. "We always have a rush at this time of the day". That's great so you know exactly what time of day there is a rush, PUT MORE PEOPLE ON THE CASH REGISTERS. And the express line is never open. Plenty of people standing in line with just one plate of hot food or a salad behind 5-10 people making groceries for the family. The hot bar has become a hot mess. Inconstant, less options, and empty trays. Salad bar is a struggle too. Even the hot pizza slices are starting to get smaller. Guess I'm gonna start shopping at Winn Dixie

Why don’t you have your crappy produce or hot bar selections delivered by drone.

Not sure what Amazon really has to do with any of that. It's not like they went into individual stores and told the employees to keep the place less clean.

Seems pretty dumb to have staff come in for a 1 hour shift because there is a rush. Then you'd be overstaffed the rest of the time.

I'm not even getting into this.

The one I go to is exactly the same, inlcuding mediocre to bad service for an expensive grocery, but just with some Prime and Amazon branding here and there.

I think this is a widespread issue in Louisiana. I've lived in multiple states since leaving LA and rarely have service issues....fast food, wal-mart, Target, etc. I go back to visit family and I just smh. I honestly think it's the culture of the service industry down there...other than chic-fil-a, I just don't think they get it.

The other area I notice a huge difference is at doctor's offices. I haven't waited more than 15 minutes for an appt in years. Growing up in LA, if you didn't wait at least an hour, something was wrong.

There are plenty of WF staff standing around. Some even BSing with the swamped cashiers.

People who don't stay in the Louisiana/Southern bubble figure this out. They really don't get it. It's like going to the Caribbean and they tell you "island time" when in actuality they are just lazy and slow

You should check out the Rouses on Airline (highland).

They do a decent job there, but the meat dept is lacking some and they layout of the store is a little weird. I wish Leblancs was still around, it was a much better store.

TW has been a long time advocate of WH and the hot and salad bars.

His input on this subject is more relevant than say.....me.

The WF in BR is not close to my house so I don't make special trips there anymore. I can't think of any reason that I'd need to grocery shopping there. Same with Trader Joes.

You should try the ghetto Whole Foods on Broad. Last time I went there since the Amazon takeover, place was bare. They had more "fermented" vegetables than fresh, which I thought particularly odd.

Just to interject, the Whole Foods here in Lafayette is a shell of itself since it first opened. The meat counter used to sell tri-tip and hanger steaks regularly. Not anymore. In fact, a couple of the meat display cases have been blocked off with advertising, and there's usually not many people in there the few times I've been recently.
